Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW)

2021 XXXIVth General Assembly and Scientific Symposium of the International Union of Radio Science (URSI GASS), 2021
Guided-wave structures are no doubt the most fundamental building elements of high-frequency antennas, circuits and systems. They are usually composed of metallic and dielectric topologies or mixed forms of both, which are made in the form of planar and non-planar geometries, depending on design approaches, processing technologies and application ...

Balanced Substrate Integrated Waveguide Filter

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2014
A novel balanced filter realized in the form of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is proposed and studied in this paper. Based on the inherently horizontal and vertical symmetry of the SIW, this filter presents inherently high-performance balanced property with advantages of no identical pair requirement, being free from the limitation of ...

Substrate integrated rectangular waveguides

High Frequency Postgraduate Student Colloquium, 2004, 2004
This paper investigates forming rectangular waveguides using printed circuit boards, which would potentially offer an extremely cheap and reliable means of providing a low loss transmission line for high frequency systems. A waveguide was synthesised, using metallized vias to form the edge of the waveguide - these designs are sometimes termed SIRWs ...

Switchable Substrate Integrated Waveguide

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2011
A switchable substrate integrated waveguide is presented that can be switched between two different modes of propagation via the biasing of a pin diode switch. To demonstrate the usefulness of the design a single pole single through (SPST) waveguide switch is presented.

Ridged substrate integrated waveguide

2012 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology (ICMMT), 2012
In this paper, a ridged substrate integrated waveguide is introduced, which has lower cutoff frequency of TE 10 mode than without ridge. The cutoff conditions and transmission performances of ridged substrate integrated waveguide are studied theoretically. And an example is produced for confirmation.
