Registration techniques for image subtraction
Conference Proceedings '88., IEEE Southeastcon, 2003Image subtraction can be used to aid in detection of flaws in a manufactured product by subtracting the image of a perfect product from that of the sample under tests. For this technique to be successful, the two images must be precisely registered. Several registration techniques were applied to various images which had been subjected to translation ...

Comparing Registration Techniques For Digital Subtraction Radiography
Proceedings of the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 1992The study described in this paper presents a new imaging geometry based on the correspondence of 3D structures. It can be used to establish correspondence between pairs of clinical images taken at different proj ection angles and to produce reconstructed images comparable with images taken with mechanical devices.

MP‐RAGE subtraction venography: A new technique
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1995AbstractPreliminary evaluation of a new magnetic resonance (MR) venography technique was performed with data sets from five patients undergoing BAR imaging of the brain before and after intravenous administration of gadopentetate dimeglumine. Before contrast agent injection, the patients were imaged with MP‐RAGE (magnetization‐prepared rapid gradient ...

Subtraction sialography: An improved and simplified technique
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1971Abstract A new method of subtraction sialography employing a serialographic cassette tunnel film changer is described. This method, which can be used in any x-ray department, offers high-quality radiographs with excellent detail.

Pancreatic Radionuclide Imaging Using Electronic Subtraction Technique
Radiology, 1971A digital data storage and processing technique was used in 75Se methionine pancreatic studies in 62 patients. In 26 of these subtraction images were obtained. Diagnosis was correct in 42 of 45 studies interpreted as normal. Space-occupying lesions were found in 9 of 12 cases of abnormal scan. There was 1 technical failure.

Digital Subtraction Angiography: Technology, Equipment, and Techniques
Radiologic Clinics of North America, 1985The equipment used in digital subtraction angiography is a combination of x-ray equipment and high-speed image-processing equipment. In this article, the components of a DSA system are described, including the x-ray generator, x-ray tube, image intensifier, television system, analog-to-digital (A-D) convertor, image processor, and image acquisition ...

A digital subtraction technique for dental radiography
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1983The relative accessibility and stability of the teeth facilitate generation of geometrically identical radiographs over a period of time. When such radiographs are digitized with the aid of a TV camera coupled to an analog to digital converter and a computer, it is possible to conveniently produce subtraction images of high diagnostic value.

Incoherent image addition and subtraction: a technique
Applied Optics, 1979A technique of incoherent image addition and subtraction is described. The basic advantage of this technique is its use of white light processing, in which case the unavoidable artifact noise in the coherent optical processor may be removed. Although the incoherent processing technique that we have proposed is effective only in a 1-D operation, it also

An Efficient Region-Based Background Subtraction Technique
2008 Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision, 2008This paper proposes an efficient region-based background subtraction technique using static camera for motion detection in various monitoring applications. Color histograms, texture information, and successive division of candidate rectangular image regions are utilized to model the background and detect the motion.
