Pulmonary Administration of Subunit Vaccines
2014Pulmonary administration of vaccines might overcome some of the disadvantages related to administration by needle. The lungs are equipped with various immune cells through which a systemic as well as a mucosal immune response can be induced. Different types of devices and formulations can be used to administer vaccines to the lungs, each with their own

The herpes zoster subunit vaccine
Expert Opinion on Biological Therapy, 2016Herpes zoster (HZ) causes severe pain and rash in older people and may be complicated by prolonged pain (postherpetic neuralgia; PHN).HZ results from reactivation of latent varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection, often associated with age related or other causes of decreased T cell immunity.

Temporal release of a three-component protein subunit vaccine from polymer multilayers.
Journal of Controlled Release, 2019Sustained antigen and adjuvant availability have been shown to improve antiviral immune responses following vaccination. Transcutaneous delivery of vaccines using microneedles has also shown promise and may be particularly relevant for mosquito-borne ...

EFFECTIVE PROTECTION AGAINST INFLUENZA AFTER VACCINATION WITH SUBUNIT VACCINE
Medical Journal of Australia, 1978Immunization with an influenza subunit vaccine given in one dose about 1 month to 2 months before onset of an epidemic of influenza afforded from 80% to 90% protection in a double-blind clinical trial which was supported by isolation of virus and serological studies. In the vaccinated group, 20% failed to develop antibodies to the vaccine.
