Subwavelength grating slot (SWGS) waveguide at 2 μm for chip-scale data transmission
We propose, design, fabricate and characterize a subwavelength grating slot (SWGS) waveguide on silicon platform at short-wave infrared (SWIR) wavelength of 2 μm. The mode guiding mechanism, i.e.

Super‐Robust Telecommunications Enabled by Topological Half‐Supermodes
Through topological half‐supermode engineering, we realize a valley‐ridge gap waveguide that is directly compatible with conventional waveguides and features topological protection. This design halves the lateral size via a PEC boundary, enabling direct TE₁₀‐mode matching and robust bend‐immune transmission.

A local‐to‐nonlocal SHG process is demonstrated on an electrically tunable metasurface, combining an LSPR at the FF with a TM‐GMR at the SH to achieve independent dual tunability. Through modal‐overlap engineering of the proposed scheme, a high‐χ(2) MQW meta‐atom delivers strong nonlinearity while achieving 2‐DoF SH control with minimal trade‐offs ...

Silicon high performance devices using subwavelength structures
Silicon photonics is poised to solve challenges in areas such as datacom, environmental monitoring and diagnostics, by leveraging the economies of scale afforded by CMOS manufacturing. This requires a wide variety of integrated silicon devices, including fiber-to-chip couplers, polarization splitters and waveguide couplers, operating both in the near ...
