Adaptive channel decoding method for polar codes

open access: yesShenzhen Daxue xuebao. Ligong ban, 2022
The polar code is a channel coding technology which can reach the Shannon limit in theory and has the advantage of low coding and decoding complexity. It is now one of the channel coding solutions in 5G communication.

Improved Successive Cancellation Decoding of Polar Codes

open access: yes, 2013
As improved versions of successive cancellation (SC) decoding algorithm, successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding and successive cancellation stack (SCS) decoding are used to improve the finite-length performance of polar codes.

Improved Polar SCL Decoding by Exploiting the Error Correction Capability of CRC

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Novel successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding schemes of Polar codes by exploiting the error correction (EC) capability of the cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes are proposed in this paper.

Joint Source-Channel Decoding of Polar Codes for Language-Based Source

open access: yes, 2016
We exploit the redundancy of the language-based source to help polar decoding. By judging the validity of decoded words in the decoded sequence with the help of a dictionary, the polar list decoder constantly detects erroneous paths after every few bits ...

Soft-Output Successive Cancellation List Decoding

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory
We introduce an algorithm for approximating the codebook probability that is compatible with all successive cancellation (SC)-based decoding algorithms, including SC list (SCL) decoding. This approximation is based on an auxiliary distribution that mimics the dynamics of decoding algorithms with an SC decoding schedule.

Fast Simplified Successive-Cancellation List Decoding of Polar Codes [PDF]

open access: yes2017 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference Workshops (WCNCW), 2017
Polar codes are capacity achieving error correcting codes that can be decoded through the successive-cancellation algorithm. To improve its error-correction performance, a list-based version called successive-cancellation list (SCL) has been proposed in the past, that however substantially increases the number of time-steps in the decoding process. Achieving the Uniform Rate Region of General Multiple Access Channels by Polar Coding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We consider the problem of polar coding for transmission over $m$-user multiple access channels. In the proposed scheme, all users encode their messages using a polar encoder, while a multi-user successive cancellation decoder is deployed at the receiver.

Design of Rate-Compatible Polar Codes Based on Non-Uniform Channel Polarization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this article we propose a technique for polar codes (PC) construction for any code length. By default, PC construction is limited to code length proportional to the power of two.

A Split-Reduced Successive Cancellation List Decoder for Polar Codes

open access: yes, 2015
This paper focuses on low complexity successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding of polar codes. In particular, using the fact that splitting may be unnecessary when the reliability of decoding the unfrozen bit is sufficiently high, a novel splitting ...
