Adaptive channel decoding method for polar codes
The polar code is a channel coding technology which can reach the Shannon limit in theory and has the advantage of low coding and decoding complexity. It is now one of the channel coding solutions in 5G communication.

Improved Successive Cancellation Decoding of Polar Codes
As improved versions of successive cancellation (SC) decoding algorithm, successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding and successive cancellation stack (SCS) decoding are used to improve the finite-length performance of polar codes.

Joint Source-Channel Decoding of Polar Codes for Language-Based Source
We exploit the redundancy of the language-based source to help polar decoding. By judging the validity of decoded words in the decoded sequence with the help of a dictionary, the polar list decoder constantly detects erroneous paths after every few bits ...

Soft-Output Successive Cancellation List Decoding
We introduce an algorithm for approximating the codebook probability that is compatible with all successive cancellation (SC)-based decoding algorithms, including SC list (SCL) decoding. This approximation is based on an auxiliary distribution that mimics the dynamics of decoding algorithms with an SC decoding schedule.

Fast Simplified Successive-Cancellation List Decoding of Polar Codes [PDF]
Polar codes are capacity achieving error correcting codes that can be decoded through the successive-cancellation algorithm. To improve its error-correction performance, a list-based version called successive-cancellation list (SCL) has been proposed in the past, that however substantially increases the number of time-steps in the decoding process. The

Design of Rate-Compatible Polar Codes Based on Non-Uniform Channel Polarization
In this article we propose a technique for polar codes (PC) construction for any code length. By default, PC construction is limited to code length proportional to the power of two.

A Split-Reduced Successive Cancellation List Decoder for Polar Codes
This paper focuses on low complexity successive cancellation list (SCL) decoding of polar codes. In particular, using the fact that splitting may be unnecessary when the reliability of decoding the unfrozen bit is sufficiently high, a novel splitting ...

On the Concatenations of Polar Codes and Non-Binary LDPC Codes
An interleaved concatenation scheme of polar codes with non-binary low-density parity check (NBLDPC) codes is proposed in this paper to improve the error-correcting performance of polar codes with finite code length. The information blocks of inner polar

A Low-Complexity Sorting Network for a Fast List Polar Decoder
Fast list decoding algorithms for polar codes have been proposed to achieve low latency and high error correction performance. In the Rate-1 and SPC nodes of fast list decoding, a high-complexity sorter is required if multiple bits are to be decoded ...
