A Miniature Rotary Electrostatic Clutch for Assigning Multi‐Degrees of Freedom to Insect‐Scale Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Insect‐scale crawling robots can traverse confined environments; nevertheless, their functionalities are predominantly restricted to sensing because of challenges in integrating actuated degrees of freedom. Herein, a miniature rotary electrostatic clutch is presented by incorporating cutting patterns in the clutch layer.

Real‐Time Sampling‐Based Model Predictive Control Based on Reverse Kullback–Leibler Divergence and Its Adaptive Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents a new sampling‐based model predictive control minimizing reverse Kullback‐Leibler divergence to quickly find a local optimum. In addition, a modified Nesterov's acceleration method is introduced for faster convergence. The method is effective for real‐time simulations and real‐world operability improvement on a force‐driven mobile ...

AI‐Assisted IoT‐Enabled ECG Monitoring: Integrating Foundational and Generative AI Tools for Sustainable Smart Healthcare—Recent Trends

open access: yesAI &Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rapid evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) has significantly advanced the field of electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, enabling real‐time, remote, and patient‐centric cardiac care. This paper presents a comprehensive survey of AI assisted IoT‐based ECG monitoring systems, focusing on the integration of emerging technologies such as ...

Antenna subset selection for V-BLAST systems based on permutation and QR decomposition

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2006
A novel antenna subset selection in V-BLAST systems with ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) detection was presented. With an eye to the impacts of ordering and cancellation, by use of permutation and QR decom-position, a terse antenna ...

Successive Interference Cancellation for Bandlimited Channels With Direct Detection

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Communications
The maximum information rates for bandlimited channels with direct detection are achieved with joint detection and decoding (JDD), but JDD is often too complex to implement. Two receiver structures are studied to reduce complexity: separate detection and decoding (SDD) and successive interference cancellation (SIC).

Implementation of First‐Line Rapid Genome Sequencing for Children in Pediatric and Cardiac Intensive Care Units

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Substantial data supports the use of rapid exome and genome sequencing (rES/rGS) in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), but fewer studies have examined the impact of rES/rGS in other pediatric critical care units. We evaluated the impact on diagnostic yield and time to diagnosis following a single‐center hospital policy change allowing ...

Auditory Hyperresponsivity in Chronic Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Trial of Pain Reprocessing Therapy

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objective Heightened sensitivity to noxious stimulation is a hallmark of chronic pain. Emerging evidence suggests heightened unpleasantness to non‐noxious (eg, auditory) aversive stimulation also characterizes chronic pain, but its magnitude, neural mechanisms, and treatment modifiability remain unknown.

Analysis of ${\textit{d}}$ -ary tree algorithms with successive interference cancellation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Probability
AbstractWe calculate the mean throughput, number of collisions, successes, and idle slots for random tree algorithms with successive interference cancellation. Except for the case of the throughput for the binary tree, all the results are new. We furthermore disprove the claim that only the binary tree maximizes throughput.

Magnetron Sputtering Synthesis of La‐Doped BiFeO3 Thin Films and Enhanced Exchange Bias in CoFeB/Bi1‐xLaxFeO3 Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores the epitaxial growth of high‐quality La‐doped BiFeO3 (BLFO) thin films at 550 °C using magnetron sputtering. The films exhibit good ferroelectric properties and low leakage current. A BLFO/CoFeB heterostructure is constructed, achieving an exchange bias field exceeding the coercive field at room temperature.
