Nanostructured materials and heterogeneous catalysis: a succinct review regarding DeNox catalysis

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Chimie, 2022
In this contribution, we would like to underline the peculiar chemical properties of nanometer scale metallic particles. To attain this goal, we select the case of DeNox catalysis (NOx reduction to nitrogen molecule) for which such nanomaterials play a ...

Succinct Choice Dictionaries

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
The choice dictionary is introduced as a data structure that can be initialized with a parameter $n\in\mathbb{N}=\{1,2,\ldots\}$ and subsequently maintains an initially empty subset $S$ of $\{1,\ldots,n\}$ under insertion, deletion, membership queries and an operation choice that returns an arbitrary element of $S$.

TEACHING CHILDREN ABOUT NUTRITION: DEVELOPMENT OF THE VEGETABLE AND FRUIT EDUCATION ACTIVITY (VFEA) [PDF]

open access: yesمجلة بحوث التربية النوعية, 2015
Background: Public health campaigns are focused on promoting increased vegetable and fruit (VF) consumption due to their association with health. Although the number of suggested portions is generally known to children in the UK, knowledge of what counts

Approximating Succinct MaxSat

open access: yesJournal of Logic and Computation, 2005
Summary: We study the approximability of the version of MAXSAT where exponentially large instances are succinctly represented using circuits. First, we prove that the NP-hardness for approximating MAXSAT can be lifted to a corresponding NEXP-hardness for approximating circuit-succinct MAXSAT for some constant performance ratio.

Succinct Representations for Concepts

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Foundation models like chatGPT have demonstrated remarkable performance on various tasks. However, for many questions, they may produce false answers that look accurate. How do we train the model to precisely understand the concepts? In this paper, we introduce succinct representations of concepts based on category theory.

Quantum Merkle Trees [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
Committing to information is a central task in cryptography, where a party (typically called a prover) stores a piece of information (e.g., a bit string) with the promise of not changing it.

A Succinct Method for Non-Line-of-Sight Mitigation for Ultra-Wideband Indoor Positioning System

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a promising indoor position technology with centimetre-level positioning accuracy in line-of-sight (LOS) situations. However, walls and other obstacles are common in an indoor environment, which can introduce non-line-of-sight ...

A Clear, Succinct Research Question Portends the Rest of the Story

open access: yesJournal of Patient-Centered Research and Reviews, 2023
The goal of any research manuscript is to convey the story of a systematic answer to an important question in the field. A clear, succinct research or study question is what provides the storyline that connects all the sections of a manuscript.

The Succinct Solver Suite [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The Succinct Solver Suite offers two analysis engines for solving data and control flow problems expressed in clausal form in a large fragment of first order logic. The solvers have proved to be useful for a variety of applications including security properties of Java Card byte-code, access control features of Mobile and Discretionary Ambients, and ...

A succinct rating scale for radiology report quality

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine, 2014
Context: Poorly written radiology reports are common among residents and are a significant challenge for radiology education. While training may improve report quality, a professionally developed reliable and valid scale to measure report quality does ...
