Behavior of Sucking Disks Under Vertical and Tangential Load
World Tribology Congress III, Volume 2, 2005The behavior of sucking disks, used to stabilize human tissue during surgeries, was investigated using conventional plastic sucking disks. The contact load to control a sustainable tangential load was calculated from the pressure and area of the internal cavity and the normal load.

AbstractDetailed video recordings of the sucking behavior of one piglet from each of four litters were analyzed to determine how the components of piglet suckling behavior are organized in relation to the time of milk ejection and the temporal pattern of grunting by the sow.

Behavioral Aspects of Chemoreception in Blood-Sucking Invertebrates
1975Feeding is accomplished through a series of behavior patterns, which, while related and perhaps interdependent, can be considered not only as parts of a single act, but also as separate phenomena, each controlled by a particular set of physical and chemical conditions (Lindstedt, 1971).
