Bilateral SERS‐Microneedle Patch for Co‐Diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus and Tuberculosis Comorbidity
Our study introduced a U@mP@Au‐mediated bilateral SERS‐microneedle patch for analyzing glucose levels from ISF and sensitively detecting TB biomarkers from sputum, respectively. This integrated dual‐analyte detecting platform can be used for co‐diagnosis of diabetes mellitus (DM) and tuberculosis (TB) comorbidity, which was demonstrated in ex vivo ...

The impact of suction duration on lung collapse during one-lung ventilation
ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of suction duration on lung collapse when using a bronchial blocker (BB) during single-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) with one-lung ventilation (OLV).MethodsThis study included 112 patients (39 males ...

Mixing‐Driven Defects and Composition Evolution in Multi‐Material Metal Additive Manufacturing
Operando synchrotron X‐ray imaging coupled with high‐fidelity multiphysics modeling uncovers how inter‐material mixing reshapes keyhole dynamics and drives distinct pore‐formation pathways in multi‐material laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). Composition‐dependent instabilities trigger defects, whereas rescanning suppresses porosity and homogenizes Cu ...

An improved suction trap for insects
A suction trap for airborne insects, which automatically segregates the catch at pre‐set intervals and standardizes the samples for volume of air, has been previously described by Johnson.

Entropy Decoding the Fundamental Law of Phase Competition in Glass Formation
We validate the integration of intermetallic and eutectic phases as initial phases for composition design. The phase competition mechanism in glass formation is quantitatively clarified based on the melting entropy of competing phases. Glass‐forming ability is modulated by tuning phase competition via the melting entropy of initial phases.

Technique to Improve Cement Penetration in Total Knee Arthroplasty
In total knee arthroplasty, infection has always been cited as being the number one cause of failure. However, more recent studies have shown aseptic loosening as the top reason for failure now.

The absolute efficiency of insect suction traps
The ways in which insect size, sampling rate and velocity, and wind speed affect the efficiency of suction traps were measured and an expression obtained to give total efficiency for most insects caught in most traps at most wind speeds.
