Enhancing Recharge Beneath Low‐Permeability Landscapes with Small‐Diameter Drywells: Token Creek, WI
Shallow, small‐diameter drywells provide enhanced recharge in rural landscapes, bypassing the low infiltration rates caused by low permeability surficial soils and high ET rates. One year of monitoring data show several recharge events and overall high water quality.

Trauma and affect in a Holocaust survivor's story: Rosita Fanto's novel Rozalia Alone
Abstract My article endeavors to redress the neglect of Rosita Fanto's Rozalia Alone (2010), which deals with a page of history that is less known worldwide, the Holocaust in Romania. Using a trauma studies perspective that mixes with affect theory, the article demonstrates that Rozalia Alone covers in a nutshell the whole magnitude of the late 1930s ...

Investigation of the Effects of the Jet Impingement Angle on Torque Generation at the Suction Surface of a Pelton Turbine Bucket [PDF]
The performance of a Pelton turbine was investigated by means of an integrated numerical and experimental study that focused on the fluid dynamics associated with the bucket suction surface during the jet–bucket interactions.

Fluidization in cemented and uncemented granular soils with application to suction-assisted bucket embedment [PDF]
Internal hydraulic flows in granular soils are known for their ability to partially or totally fluidize the material, thus causing a significant loss of mechanical strength.

Abstract Introduction We studied the response of fish assemblages, water quality, and plankton following the completion of 700 acres of a 1184‐acre tidal restoration project (Dutch Slough Tidal Restoration; DSTR) in a system degraded by water diversions, channelization, non‐native species, and wetland loss.

On the Bearing Capacity of Suction Bucket Foundation in Saturated Sand
The load displacement curves of a suction bucket foundation under vertical, horizontal and combined loadings are studied experimentally. The effects of sand density on the bearing capacity are also investigated.

ABSTRACT Literature has described dairy cows as both passive objects and active participants in the milk production process. This study explores how this passivity and activity co‐exist through an inquiry into dairy cow agency within a post‐anthropocentric conceptualisation of socialisation theories.

Temporal Replication and Sampling Efficiency in High‐Frequency Autonomous and Manual eDNA Sampling
Accounting for temporal correlation in eDNA time series can improve the accuracy of ecological inference about the influence of hydrological covariates on eDNA concentration. Further, we found that MCE filters were more efficient than PES filters. ABSTRACT Environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling is a valuable tool for ecological research, but its reliability

Stochastic modeling of geometric imperfections for buckling analysis of suction buckets
Recently, suction buckets have become a very prominent foundation for bottom fixed and floating offshore wind turbines. They are embedded with an installation force that stems from water evacuation inside the bucket. This internal negative pressure leads to a high risk of structural buckling.
