Disentangling Words, Clitics, and Suffixes in Uyghur

open access: yesLanguages, 2023
Turkic languages have been shown to form words using a wide range of word-formation strategies, such as suffixation, cliticization, and auxiliaries. The present paper offers a detailed description of word formation in Uyghur, compares the patterns in ...

Low Space External Memory Construction of the Succinct Permuted Longest Common Prefix Array

open access: yes, 2016
The longest common prefix (LCP) array is a versatile auxiliary data structure in indexed string matching. It can be used to speed up searching using the suffix array (SA) and provides an implicit representation of the topology of an underlying suffix ...

Converting suffix trees into factor/suffix oracles

open access: yesJournal of Discrete Algorithms, 2008
Several methods to compress suffix trees were defined, most of them with the aim of obtaining compact (that is, space economical) index structures. Besides this practical aspect, a compression method can reveal structural properties of the resulting data structure, allowing a better understanding of it and a better estimation of its performances.

Prefix–suffix duplication

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 2014
We consider a bio-inspired formal operation on words called prefix-suffix duplication which consists in the duplication of a prefix or suffix of a given word. The class of languages defined by the iterated application of the prefix-suffix duplication to a word is considered.

Enhancing Anode‐Free Lithium Metal Batteries: A Lightweight MPTS‐MXene Current Collector for Superior Performance and Energy Density

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study introduces an MPTS‐modified MXene current collector for anode‐free lithium metal batteries (AFLMBs). A key advantage of MPTS‐MXene is its ultralight weight, only 15% as heavy as standard copper per unit volume. Its special layered structure and Si‐O rich surface help lithium deposit smoothly and flat, while forming a protective layer that ...

Managing Unbounded-Length Keys in Comparison-Driven Data Structures with Applications to On-Line Indexing

open access: yes, 2013
This paper presents a general technique for optimally transforming any dynamic data structure that operates on atomic and indivisible keys by constant-time comparisons, into a data structure that handles unbounded-length keys whose comparison cost is not

Associations Between GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists and Alopecia: A Multi‐Centre Retrospective Analysis and Public Interest Trends

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background There is a growing body of literature suggesting that GLP‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RAs) may be associated with hair loss; however, primary literature is sparse. Additionally, it is not well‐established which types of hair loss may be associated with GLP‐1RA use. Objectives This study aims to assess associations between GLP‐1RAs and

The interface of lexical semantics and conceptual structure deverbal and denominal nominalizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Nominalizations can refer to events, instances of events or participants in an event. The particular reference is determined by the lexical semantics of the base and the suffix, and by the conceptual structure of the base. The comparison between deverbal
