Financial Management, EarlyView.ABSTRACT We investigate the relationship between global geopolitical risk and bank deposit flows across a wide panel of European countries. Motivated by the pivotal role of deposit stability for financial intermediation and systemic resilience, we explore whether geopolitical shocks alter depositors’ portfolio choices.

Cyberattacks on Small Banks and the Impact on Local Banking Markets
Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.Abstract Cyberattacks on small banks have direct and spillover effects in local markets. Following successful cyberattacks, hacked small banks experience a decline in deposit growth rates. This effect of cyberattacks is not observed in hacked large banks.

Monetary Policy, Inflation, and Crises: Evidence from History and Administrative Data
The Journal of Finance, EarlyView.ABSTRACT We show that a U‐shaped monetary rate path increases banking crisis risk, via credit and asset price cycles, analyzing 17 countries over 150 years. Rate hikes (raw or instrumented) increase crisis risk, but only if preceded by prolonged cuts. These patterns are unique to banking crises, unlike noncrisis recessions.
