Characterization of sugar cane bagasse ash as supplementary material for Portland cement
Sugar Cane Bagasse is a by-product of the sugar agroindustry; it is partly used as fuel. However, bagasse ash (SCBA) is considered waste, which creates a disposal problem. Furthermore, if sugar cane bagasse is burned under controlled conditions, the SCBA

Phenolics in sugar cane juice : potential degradation by hydrogen peroxide and Fenton's reagent [PDF]
The presence of colour in raw sugar plays a key role in the marketing strategy of the Australian raw sugar industry. Some sugars are relatively difficult to decolourise during refining and develop colour during storage.
