Depolymerisation of γ‐Valerolactone Organosolv Lignins with Unsupported Molybdenum‐Based Catalysts

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 3, February 2026.
Lignins from γ‐valerolactone organosolv fractionation were depolymerised in ethanol using unsupported molybdenum catalysts. Over 90% yields of low‐molecular‐weight lignin oil were obtained with minimal char formation, yields of the aromatic monomers being 7–16 wt%.

Compressive Strength of Volcanic Ash/Ordinary Portland Cement Laterized Concrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This study investigates the effect of partial replacement of cement with volcanic ash (VA) on the compressive strength of laterized concrete. A total of 192 cubes of 150mm dimensions were cast and cured in water for 7, 14, 21, and 28 days of hydration ...

Utilization of Walnut Male Flowers (Juglans regia L.) as a Functional Ingredient in Biscuits: Impacts on Dough Rheology, Nutritional Composition, Glycemic Response, and Sensory Attributes

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study investigated walnut male flowers (WFs) as a functional ingredient in biscuits. Replacing wheat flour with 0%–10% WFs enhanced dough viscoelasticity, increased protein and fiber content, and reduced the predicted glycemic index by up to 16%.

Valorization of Green Coconut Husk Powder for the Sustainable Production of Levulinic Acid

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 6, 12 February 2026.
Green coconut husk powder, an abundant agroindustrial waste, is valorized into levulinic acid through aluminum sulfate catalysis. The sustainable process achieves 42.9% yield under mild conditions, contributing to circular bioeconomy principles and waste‐to‐chemical strategies.

SUGARCANE BAGASSE ASH AS A PARTIAL-PORTLAND-CEMENT-REPLACEMENT MATERIAL

open access: yesDyna, 2010

Relationships Between Soil Phosphorus Fractions and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Degraded Red and Black Soils Amended With Magnesium Treated Biochar

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 2, February 2026.
The use of pristine and Mg‐modified biochar under acidic soils is of great interest. The biochar addition increases the pH of acidic soils and improves the soil health, and side by side increases the availability of nutrients such as phosphorus. Furthermore, the current study also documented that with the addition of biochar, greenhouse gas emission ...

Influence of the addition of exogenous xylanase with or without pre-incubation on the in vitro ruminal fermentation of three fibrous feeds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
These by-products could be used as animal feedstuffs, but their use is limited by their high fibre content, which invariably lowers the efficiency of digestive utilization (Khattab et al. 2013; Kholif et al. 2014). Fibrous feeds are characterized by high
