Sugarcane Borer Control, 1992:

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1993
Abstract Season long control of SCB was tested in a small plot experiment located at the St. Gabriel Research Station, St. Gabriel, LA. Thirteen insecticide treatments were evaluated in a field of first ratoon sugarcane. The experimental design used a RCB with 5 replications and each plot consisting of 3 rows (1.8 m centers), 7.3 m in ...

Sugarcane Borer Control, 1984

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1985
Abstract Insecticides were applied at 3-wk intervals in a sugarcane field located on the St. Gabriel Experiment Station near Baton Rouge to determine their efficacy for controlling SCB larvae. A randomized complete block experimental design was employed with treatments replicated 4 times.

Sugarcane Borer Control, 1977

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1979
Abstract Insecticide sprays were applied biweekly in a block of first stubble crop sugarcane (variety CP 61-37) located at Fredrick Brothers Farm near Theriot, Louisiana to determine season-long control of sugarcane borer (SCB) infestations.

Sugarcane Borer Control, 1991

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1992
Abstract Seven insecticide treatments were tested for season long control of SCB in a block of 'CP74-383' variety plant cane (SCB-susceptible sugarcane) located in Assumption Parish on the Westfield Plantation in Paincourtville, LA. The test consisted of 3 row (1.8 m centers) plots, 7.3 m long (0.004 ha/plot) arranged in a randomized ...

Development of Transgenic Sugarcane Resistant to Sugarcane Borer

Tropical Plant Biology, 2018
Sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis) is a major pest of sugarcane (Saccharum spp. hybrids), across the Americas. The insect is partially controlled by biological and chemical means, but still causes significant economic losses to sugarcane growers and processors.

Sugarcane Borer Control, 1981

Insecticide and Acaricide Tests, 1982
Abstract Insecticide sprays were applied 3-4 weeks apart in a block of plant sugarcane located on the St. Gabriel Experiment Station near Baton Rouge, LA, to determine season long control of sugarcane borer (SCB) infestations. A randomized complete block experimental design was set up with treatments replicated 5 times.

The sugarcane borer sex attractant

Entomophaga, 1971
Investigations with the sugarcane borer sex pheromone have been conducted in the laboratory and field since 1964 to: (1) develop a suitable synthetic diet for rearing large numbers of larvae; (2) develop a reliable bioassay to aid chemical studies of the pheromone; (3) study male response in the field to the pheromone; (4) determine the effects on ...

Sugarcane Borer Resistance to Insecticides

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1965
Laboratory studies of the susceptibility to insecticides of the sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (F.), were conducted during 1962–63. A technique for testing borer susceptibility to insecticides in the laboratory was developed. Newly hatched larvae were exposed to residual films of insecticides in 125-ml Erlenmeyer flasks for from 30 minutes to 5 ...

Seasonal Incidence of Borer Complex in Sugarcane

Indian Journal of Entomology, 2021
The studies on incidence of sugarcane borers were observed in sugarcane from April to February during two crop seasons i.e. 2016–17 and 2017–18 at the four locations of Punjab i.e. Gurdaspur, SBS Nagar, Patiala and Fazilka. The early shoot borer was observed from April to June at all the locations, after which it declined.
