Visacane, the Cirad quarantine tool for the exchange of pest and disease-free sugarcane germplasm [PDF]
Sugarcane varietal improvement requires the introduction of vegetative propagation material. The continued increase of international and intercontinental trade of plants has led to the enforcement of quarantine measures in many countries before the ...

Can soil amendments help stabilize rainfed soybean production variations?
Abstract The application of biochar and gypsum to soil promotes soil health for crop production. The benefits can vary depending on the soil and climate. We evaluated seed yield, quality, and soil quality benefits of applying biochar and gypsum to silt loam soil in a humid subtropical climate at Stoneville, MS (33° 42′ N, 90° 55′ W).

Sugarcane straw and the populations of pests and nematodes
The green cane harvesting represented a significant change in sugarcane ecosystem due to the presence of straw left on the soil and to the absence of fire. These two factors may affect the populations of pests and their natural enemies.

Impulsive Biological Pest Control Strategies of the Sugarcane Borer [PDF]
We propose an impulsive biological pest control of the sugarcane borer (Diatraea saccharalis) by its egg parasitoid Trichogramma galloi based on a mathematical model in which the sugarcane borer is represented by the egg and larval stages, and the parasitoid is considered in terms of the parasitized eggs.

This systematic review of 107 studies on the factors behind the elevational range limits of alpine vascular plants shows a persistent emphasis on upper limits and abiotic factors, especially temperature, while work at lower limits is more evenly distributed across water availability, plant–plant interactions, and selection/local adaptation.

Sugarcane juice is clarified and fermented with yeast to produce ethanol and CO₂. The broth is refined through distillation and molecular sieves, yielding fuel‐grade ethanol stored for transport. Bagasse, vinasse, and residues are recycled as valuable by‐products, enabling a sustainable bioethanol production pathway ABSTRACT This study investigates the
