A Hybrid Interval Type 3 Fuzzy Logic Framework With Adaptive Learning for Nonlinear Control: Application to Type 1 Diabetes

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper presents a novel hybrid control strategy for a specific class of nonlinear systems based on interval Type 3 fuzzy logic systems (IT3‐FLSs), and its effectiveness in the management of Type 1 diabetes is demonstrated. The main achievements of this work can be summarized as the following main points.

Bibliometric Analysis of Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) as a Neurofeedback Tool in Brain–Computer Interface (BCI) Systems

open access: yesAdvances in Human-Computer Interaction, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In the last few years, recent advances in alternative methods for neurorehabilitation have witnessed outstanding progress including electrical stimulation (ES) and its derivative functional electrical stimulation (FES), a treatment that applies a transcutaneous electrical current to induce muscle contractions and is commonly used in individuals with ...

Discrete Integrals Based on Comonotonic Modularity

open access: yesAxioms, 2013
It is known that several discrete integrals, including the Choquet and Sugeno integrals, as well as some of their generalizations, are comonotonically modular functions.

Comparison of Neuro‐Fuzzy and Neural Network Techniques for Estimating the Line Voltage of 8E Electrical Locomotives

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The South African rail sector is a key contributor to the national economy, boosting gross domestic product (GDP) and creating jobs. However, serious malfunctions often jeopardize the reliability of locomotives such as the Class 8E locomotive, leading to lost output and longer lead times.

FUZZY LOGIC APPROACH TO FOREST FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT IN TANJUNG PUTTING NATIONAL PARK

open access: yesBarekeng
In implementing fuzzy logic, the Sugeno fuzzy method faces several challenges, such as issues in determining the fuzzy rule base and the occurrence of undefined outputs (defuzzification) with values of 0/0.

Liveness‐Verified Dynamic Time Warping‐Based Authentication and Hybrid Adaptive Neuro‐Fuzzy Inference System Identification for Single‐Channel Diaphragmatic Breathing Surface Electromyography Biometrics

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
The first biometric framework to harness dynamic time warping (DTW) for single‐channel diaphragmatic surface electromyography authentication via post‐hoc alignment is presented. By optimally warping deep–normal–deep breath cycles, DTW achieves perfect genuine–impostor separation (equal error rates = 0%), while a parallel adaptive neuro‐fuzzy inference ...

A New Class of Interval-Valued Discrete Sugeno-like Integrals

open access: yesAxioms
Discrete Sugeno integrals form a significant family of aggregation functions. Several variants of these integrals have been proposed, most of which replace the minimum operation with alternative operations, such as product, overlap functions, and t-norms.

Joint Actuator and Sensor Fault Diagnosis in Wind Turbine Systems

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 28, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a fault diagnosis method for wind turbine systems that can simultaneously detect and estimate both actuator and sensor faults. Unlike previous studies that treat these faults separatelyand focus mainly on pitch angle‐related variables, our study recognizes the interdependence between actuator and sensor faults and expands ...
