Utilization of Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) Liquid Waste to Increase Density and Growth Rate of Microalgae Chlorella Pyrenoidosa

open access: yesJournal of Applied Geospatial Information, 2023
Microalgae Chlorella pyrenoidosa is a microalgae that has the potential to have various roles, especially as a bioabsorbant for organic waste. The growth of the oil palm plantation industry is also directly proportional to the increase in waste generated

Plant species biogeographic origin shapes their current and future distribution on the world's highest island mountain

open access: yesJournal of Ecology, Volume 111, Issue 2, Page 372-379, February 2023., 2023
An expert verified list of c. 7000 herbarium specimens shows that Mount Jaya's lowland forests are dominated by species that originated further west on the islands and mainland of Sunda. At higher elevations more and more eastern, Sahulian species are present.

Optimasi Kontrol untuk Variabel Flow Rate dan Temperatur Furnace Berbasis Solusi Persamaan Riccati

open access: yesJurnal EECCIS (Electrics, Electronics, Communications, Controls, Informatics, Systems), 2021
Dalam pengoperasian furnace, uap yang dihasilkan furnace harus dijaga pada suhu 370-375oC dan tidak boleh melebihi 375oC untuk mencegah terjadinya cracking pada waste oil.

Local‐scale temperature gradients driven by human disturbance shape the physiological and morphological traits of dung beetle communities in a Bornean oil palm–forest mosaic

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 36, Issue 7, Page 1655-1667, July 2022., 2022
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Temperature change is an often‐assumed, but rarely tested, mechanism by which sensitive species may decline in forest landscapes following habitat degradation, fragmentation and destruction. Traits mediate how species respond to environmental change, with physiological,

Weak edge effects on trees in Bornean rainforest remnants bordering oil palm

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 54, Issue 4, Page 921-932, July 2022., 2022
Edge effects have consequences for rainforest tree communities, particularly in highly fragmented agricultural landscapes. We studied edge effects in forests bordering oil palm plantations in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo, and found that loss of large trees caused a significant reduction in aboveground carbon near edges.

Riparian buffers act as microclimatic refugia in oil palm landscapes

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 431-442, February 2021., 2021
Widely legislated riparian buffer widths of 20–30 m each side of a river may provide drier and less humid microclimatic conditions than continuous forest. Adopting wider buffers and maintaining high vegetation quality will ensure set‐asides established for hydrological reasons bring co‐benefits for terrestrial biodiversity, both now, and in the face of
