Tracking the Dynamic and Interactive Metal Oxidation Changes in CoFe, CoNi, and NiFe Bimetallic Hydroxides for Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando hard X‐ray absorption spectroscopy is applied to track the dynamic and interactive metal oxidation changes in iron group bimetallic hydroxides under different chemical and electrochemical conditions. It shows that Co and Fe oxidation are relatively equal and synchronized in CoFeOxHy.

Methane emission and sulfide levels increase in tropical seagrass sediments during temperature stress: A mesocosm experiment

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2020
Climate change‐induced ocean warming is expected to greatly affect carbon dynamics and sequestration in vegetated shallow waters, especially in the upper subtidal where water temperatures may fluctuate considerably and can reach high levels at low tides.

Thermodynamics and Kinetics of sulfide oxidation by oxygen: a look at inorganically controlled reactions and biologically mediated processes in the environment

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2011
The thermodynamics for the first electron transfer step for sulfide and oxygen indicates that the reaction is unfavorable as unstable superoxide and bisulfide radical ions would need to be produced. However, a two electron transfer is favorable as stable

Sulfide Removal From The Sulfide Spring

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2007
In this study ferrous sulfate had been used as an oxidant for removing the sulfide from water samples taken from sulfide spring in Hamam al-alil south of the Mosul city. The study revealed that ferrous sulfate is efficient in removing sulfide in dose not to exceed to 200mg/l with an efficiency of 77%, also adding of Bentonite clay with ferrous sulfate ...
