Biointerfacing with AgBiS2 Quantum Dots for Pseudocapacitive Photostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that AgBiS2 quantum dots exhibit unique photoinduced pseudocapacitive charge transfer properties, enabling efficient light‐to‐electrical energy conversion. These quantum dots facilitate enhanced light absorption and transduction when integrated with ZnO nanowires, which serve as an effective charge transport medium.

(Electro)catalytic oxidation of sulfide and recovery of elemental sulfur from sulfide-laden streams [PDF]

open access: yesWater Research, 2023, 245, 120651
MnxOy coated over TiO2 nanotube array substrate was doped with Mo and polyaniline (PANI) and applied for electrochemical desulfurization of concentrated sulfide (HS) solutions at basic pH, typical of biogas scrubbing solutions and industrial wastewater.

Fine-grained Material Associated with a Large Sulfide returned from Comet 81P/Wild 2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In a consortium analysis of a large particle captured from the coma of comet 81P/Wild 2 by the Stardust spacecraft, we report the discovery of a field of fine-grained material (FGM) in contact with a large sulfide particle. The FGM was partially located in an embayment in the sulfide, so appears to have been largely protected from damage during ...

The Electrochemical Oxidation of Organic Selenides and Selenoxides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The electrochemical oxidation of alkyl and aryl selenides was investigated in acetonitrile. The oxidation of diphenyl selenide and di(4‐methylphenyl) selenide led primarily to the formation of their respective selenoxides, which were identified by ...

Multi‐Scaled Cellulosic Nanonetworks from Tunicates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microbial and plant nanonetworks of cellulose have enabled a wide range of high‐performance yet sustainable materials. Herein, a third class of cellulosic nanonetworks is showcased by exploiting the only animal tissue‐producing cellulose nanofibers, i.e., ascidians. An ultrastructure including spherical cells and a microvasculature with diameters of 50–

Degradation of lansoprazole and omeprazole in the aquatic environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Lansoprazole and omeprazole degrade in water leading to sulfides, benzimidazolones and a red complex material. Degradation is accelerated in acid medium and by solar simulator irradiation.

Role of Pressure and Expansion on the Degradation in Solid‐State Silicon Batteries: Implementing Electrochemistry in Particle Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A simulation technique for assessing both the fabrication and operation of a solid‐state Si battery is demonstrated by integrating particle dynamics with mass/charge transport. Although, the fabrication pressure (Pfab) increased the inter‐particle contacts and reduced the concentration (ηconc) and Li‐ion (ηLi+) overpotentials during discharging, it ...
