Sulfides, Arsenides and Complex Sulfides (Sulfosalts)
2020This mineral class comprises most of the ore minerals. Many of them are opaque, i.e., they are non-transparent, even in thin sections that are not more than 20–30 µm in thickness, and show metallic lustre with different shades of colour.

Sulfides in organic synthesis. Application of sulfides
Russian Chemical Reviews, 1994The results of studies on the use of sulfides as synthons in organic synthesis are treated systematically and surveyed. The practical applications of sulfides are examined. The bibliography includes 187 references.

2020
The mineralogy, mineral chemistry and geological occurrence of metal sulfides, the major sources of world supplies of many metals, are reviewed. Emphasis is placed on the major sulfide minerals pyrite, pyrrhotite, mackinawite, galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite, and the sulfarsenide mineral arsenopyrite.

Reductive Sulfidation. Conversion of Aldehydes into Sulfides
Synthetic Communications, 1976Abstract Carbonyl compounds have been converted into 1,3-oxathiolanes or 1,3-oxathianes and then reduced with “mixed hydride” to β-hydroxyethyl (or on further reduction ethyl) or γ-hydroxypropyl sulfides, respectively.1 However, this overall conversion of a carbonyl compound to a sulfide (a process for which the name reductive sulfidation is suggested ...

Sulfide Determination by Silver/Sulfide Electrode
1977The method of sulfide analysis by selective ion electrode is examined, and an additional step which can be applied to all sulfide methods is described. This additional step removes interferences to the iodine titration and, at the same time, places the sample in an ideal solution for analysis.
