New ways to synthesize lead sulfide nanosheets - substituted alkanes direct the growth of 2D nanostructures [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology 27 (2016) 355602, 2016
Two-dimensional colloidal nanosheets represent very attractive optoelectronic materials. They combine good lateral conductivity with solution-processability and geometry-tunable electronic properties. In case of PbS nanosheets, so far the synthesis was driven by the addition of chloroalkanes as coligands.

Thermoelectric effects in superconductor-ferromagnet tunnel junctions on europium sulfide [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 95, 224505 (2017), 2017
We report on large thermoelectric effects in superconductor-ferromagnet tunnel junctions in proximity contact with the ferromagnetic insulator europium sulfide. The combination of a spin-splitting field and spin-polarized tunnel conductance in these systems breaks the electron-hole symmetry and leads to spin-dependent thermoelectric currents.

Luminescence in sulfides : a rich history and a bright future [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Sulfide-based luminescent materials have attracted a lot of attention for a wide range of photo-, cathodo- and electroluminescent applications. Upon doping with Ce3+ and Eu2+, the luminescence can be varied over the entire visible region by appropriately

Shallow submarine hydrothermal systems in the Aeolian Volcanic Arc, Italy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The majority of known high-temperature hydrothermal vents occur at mid-ocean ridges and back-arc spreading centers, typically at water depths from 2000 to 4000 meters.

Sulfide Removal From The Sulfide Spring

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2007
In this study ferrous sulfate had been used as an oxidant for removing the sulfide from water samples taken from sulfide spring in Hamam al-alil south of the Mosul city. The study revealed that ferrous sulfate is efficient in removing sulfide in dose not to exceed to 200mg/l with an efficiency of 77%, also adding of Bentonite clay with ferrous sulfate ...

Performance Comparison of Surface Sensitizers for Diode Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Polyamide 12

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser‐generated nanoparticles transform standard PA12 powders into high‐performance, dye‐free feedstocks for diode laser 3D printing. Despite identical absorbance at 808 nm, CuS, LaB6, and CB coatings reveal striking differences in fusion and strength—unlocking new design space for recyclable, industrial‐grade polymers.

O papel dos sulfetos volatilizados por acidificação no controle do potencial de biodisponibilidade de metais em sedimentos contaminados de um estuário tropical, no sudeste do Brasil The role of acid volatile sulfide in the control of potential metal bioavailability in contaminated sediments from a tropical estuary, southeast Brazil

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2009
Measurements of acid volatile sulfide (AVS) and simultaneously extracted metals (SEM) were combined in order to verify the ecological hazard of contaminated sediments from the Santos-Cubatão Estuarine System (SE Brazil), which is located in one of the ...

Drilling of shallow marine sulfide-sulfate mineralisation in south-eastern Tyrrhenian Sea, Italy; Seafloor sulfides, Tyrrhenian Sea, highsulfidation; hydrothermal systems, Palinuro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Semi-massive to massive sulfides with abundant late native sulfur were drilled in a shallowwater hydrothermal system in an island arc volcanic setting at the Palinuro volcanic complex in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Italy.
