Structures of Silver Sulfonamides

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1978
The structures of silver sulfonamides were found to depend highly on the substituent at the amide nitrogen of the sulfonamide. Silver is coordinated to that nitrogen and the sulfonamide is in the amido form if no substituent is present or if the substituent is a phenyl, acetyl, or 2-pyrimidyl group.

Removal of sulfonamides from wastewater in the UV/TiO2 system: effects of pH and salinity on photodegradation and mineralization.

Water Science and Technology, 2019
The effects of salinity on the photodegradation and mineralization of sulfonamides in the UV/TiO2 system were investigated. The goals of this study were to analyze the effects of pH and salinity on the sulfonamide concentration and total organic carbon ...

Anticancer and Antiviral Sulfonamides

Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2003
The sulfonamides constitute an important class of drugs, with several types of pharmacological agents possessing antibacterial, anti- carbonic anhydrase, diuretic, hypoglycemic and antithyroid activity among others. A large number of structurally novel sulfonamide derivatives have ultimately been reported to show substantial antitumor activity in vitro

Asymmetric Stepwise Reductive Amination of Sulfonamides, Sulfamates, and a Phosphinamide by Nickel Catalysis.

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
Asymmetric reductive amination of poorly nucleophilic sulfonamides was realized in the presence of nickel catalysts and titanium alkoxide. A wide range of ketones, including enolizable ketones and some biaryl ones, were converted into sulfonamides in ...

The Sulfonamides and Antibiotics in Trachoma*

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1952
The following preparations were used and the results observed in a series of over 3,500 patients with trachoma at the Missouri Trachoma Hospital during 1941-1951: sulfanilamide, sulfapyridine, sulfathiazole, sulfathiazine, sulfacetamide ("albucid"), sodium sulfacetamide ("albucid" soluble), sulfamylon® (4-amino-2-methyl benzene sulfonamide ...

Flavone-3′-sulfonamide

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 2000
In the title molecule, C15H11NO4S, the phenyl and benzene rings are quite planar, with maximum deviations from planarity of 0.009 (2) and 0.004 (1) A, respectively. The γ-pyrone ring deviates from planarity and makes a dihedral angle of 8.3 (3)° with the 2-phenyl substituent. The sulfonamide group is involved in N—H⋯O hydrogen bonding.

Metal-free construction of primary sulfonamides through three diverse salts

, 2018
In this report, the first metal-free construction of primary sulfonamides through a direct three-component reaction of sodium metabisulfite, sodium azide and aryldiazonium has been established. Readily available inorganic Na2S2O5 and NaN3 were applied as
