Sulfonated polyether ether ketone based composite polymer electrolyte membranes

Catalysis Today, 2001
Electrochemical properties of a series of composite membranes prepared by incorporation of boron phosphate into polymeric matrix of sulfonated PEEK were studied. The conductivity of the composites was found to exceed largely that of pure SPEEK polymer. It was however lower than predicted by the effective medium theory for these mixtures.

Proton conducting composite membranes from sulfonated polyether ether ketone and SiO2

Journal Wuhan University of Technology, Materials Science Edition, 2009
Proton conducting composite membranes from sulfonated polyether ether ketone and SiO2 for direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) application were prepared with sulfonated polyether ether ketone(SPEEK) and tetracethoxy silane(TEOS) by sol-gel method. The covalent crosslinking structure was formed between —SO3H of SPEEK via SiO2.

Nanocomposite membrane by incorporating graphene oxide in sulfonated polyether ether ketone for direct methanol fuel cell

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021
Abstract Few-layers graphene oxide enriched with oxygen functional groups is successfully obtained and incorporated into sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) matrix. The functional groups and the surface modification of membranes were identified using FTIR spectroscopy, and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). Subsequently, FESEM was employed

Highly Sulfonated Poly(Ether Ether Ketone) Blend with Hydrophobic Polyether Sulfone as an Alternative Electrolyte for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2020
Highly sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (sPEEK) offers high proton conductivity but lacks in mechanical stability due to poor swelling degree. Therefore, a promising approach has been introduced in this study by incorporating the hydrophobic polyether sulfone (PES) into sPEEK matrix. The effect of incorporating PES at various composition contents (5,

Flexible humidity sensors for wireless monitoring based on electrospun sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) nanofibres

Sensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2020
Abstract The development of flexible and high-performance humidity sensors for continuous wireless monitoring is receiving increasing attention. In this work, electrospun sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) nanofibres with different sulfonation degrees were prepared and directly deposited onto flexible substrates for humidity sensor ...

Electrical properties of sulfonated polyether ether ketone/polyetherimide blend membranes doped with inorganic acids

Journal of Polymer Science, Part B: Polymer Physics, 2000
The influence of blending with polyetherimide (PEI) and doping with HCl and H3PO4 on the properties of sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) was studied. Blending with PEI first results in an increase and then in a decrease in membrane swelling at PEI concentrations greater than 5%.

Investigation, modeling, and optimization of parameters affecting sulfonated polyether ether ketone membrane-electrode assembly

International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2019
Abstract A model of a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) with a Sulfonated Poly Ether-Ether Ketone (SPEEK) membrane is presented and compared with Nafion membrane MEA. The model used the specific hydration and proton conductivity curves developed for SPEEK membrane and accounted for feed-gas momentum and mass transfer, electro-potential in both the ...
