The influence of blending with polyetherimide (PEI) and doping with HCl and H3PO4 on the properties of sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) was studied. Blending with PEI first results in an increase and then in a decrease in membrane swelling at PEI concentrations greater than 5%.

Abstract A model of a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) with a Sulfonated Poly Ether-Ether Ketone (SPEEK) membrane is presented and compared with Nafion membrane MEA. The model used the specific hydration and proton conductivity curves developed for SPEEK membrane and accounted for feed-gas momentum and mass transfer, electro-potential in both the ...

AbstractBACKGROUNDPolyether ether ketone (PEEK) was modified by a sulfuric and nitric acid mixed system to improve the solubility of the material and the gas selective permeability of the film. SN1 and SN5, synthesized from mixed acid systems (with ratios of nitric acid and sulfuric acid of 1:1 and 1:5, respectively) were chosen because they had ...

Abstract In this study, a single layer graphene oxide is successfully synthesized and used as a nano-filler in a self-fabricated sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) to make a composite proton exchange membrane, graphene oxide/SPEEK (GO-SPEEK). The properties of GO-SPEEK, Nafion® 117 and SPEEK are then compared to ascertain their selectivity to ...

Sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK)/polyether sulfone (PES)/nano hydroxyapatite (nHAP) composites were prepared with different nHAP filler concentrations. FTIR analysis confirmed the blend formation between SPEEK and PES. Surface morphology pictures showed agglomeration of the nHAP particles at higher percentage of loading.
