Extremely Nonlinear Optics Using Shaped Pulses Spectrally Broadened in an Argon- or Sulfur Hexafluoride-Filled Hollow-Core Fiber

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2015
In this contribution we present a comparison of the performance of spectrally broadened ultrashort pulses using a hollow-core fiber either filled with argon or sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) for demanding pulse-shaping experiments.

Environmental Effects of Electrically-Stressed Sulfur Hexafluoride

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2012
High Voltage (HV) equipment such as power switches, current or voltage transformers, and flexible HV transmission lines insulated by pressurized SF6 (or SF6/N2 mixtures) offer component compactness, high reliability and low maintenance demands compared ...

The increasing atmospheric burden of the greenhouse gas sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2020
We report a 40-year history of SF6 atmospheric mole fractions measured at the Advanced Global Atmospheric Gases Experiment (AGAGE) monitoring sites, combined with archived air samples, to determine emission estimates from 1978 to 2018.

A Sulfur Hexafluoride Sensor Using Quantum Cascade and CO2 Laser-Based Photoacoustic Spectroscopy

open access: yesSensors, 2010
The increase in greenhouse gas emissions is a serious environmental problem and has stimulated the scientific community to pay attention to the need for detection and monitoring of gases released into the atmosphere.

Studi Karakteristik Tegangan Tembus DC Polaritas Positif pada Gas Nitrogen (N2) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Insulation of Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas, nitrogen (N2) gas and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) gas usually used in circuit breaker. Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas is widely used in high-voltage system.

Characterization of uncertainties in atmospheric trace gas inversions using hierarchical Bayesian methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a hierarchical Bayesian method for atmospheric trace gas inversions. This method is used to estimate emissions of trace gases as well as "hyper-parameters" that characterize the probability density functions (PDFs) of the a priori emissions ...

Fluorine‐Doping of Mesoporous TiO2 Enables Efficient Defect Passivation for High‐Efficiency and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce an SF6 RIE plasma fluorination method for mesoporous TiO2, suppressing oxygen vacancies and improving charge extraction. The fluorinated TiO2 promotes uniform FAPbI3 film formation and enhances device performance under both one‐sun and indoor illumination.

Strategic Sustainability Assessment in the Construction Sector: A Multidimensional Index for Decision Making in Decentralised Economies

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article evaluates the average business performance of construction firms across Spain's 17 autonomous communities within a decentralised governance framework. A regional composite sustainability index is developed, integrating economic, social and environmental intensity indicators.

Three-dimensional shock-sulfur hexafluoride bubble interaction

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The evolution of shock-sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) bubble interaction is investigated using a detailed three-dimensional numerical simulation. The influences of the end wall distance on the bubble evolution are analyzed by using the high-resolution ...

A Systemic Model for Understanding Business Interactions With Biodiversity and Ecosystems

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation represent critical threats to human well‐being and economic resilience, challenging businesses to understand and manage their interdependence with natural systems. This study develops a systemic framework—the BioModel—that elucidates the reciprocal relationship between businesses, biodiversity, and ...
