Determination of dimethyl selenide and dimethyl sulphide compounds causing off-flavours in bottled mineral waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Sales of bottled drinking water have shown a large growth during the last two decades due to the general belief that this kind of water is healthier, its flavour is better and its consumption risk is lower than that of tap water.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Investigation on Beneficiation of a Complex Copper-lead-zinc Polymetallic Ore in Qinghai

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
A copper-lead-zinc polymetallic ore in Qinghai has characteristics of complex ore properties, low copper-lead-zinc content, high sulfur content, and high argillated gangue content, so it is difficult to beneficiate.

The experimental study on H2S generation during thermal recovery process for heavy oil from the Eastern Venezuela Basin

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2017
Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is toxic, corrosive and environmentally damaging. It is not only found in oil and gas development, but is also often found in heavy oil exploitation.

Biokinetics Of microbial consortia using biogenic sulfur as a novel electron donor for sustainable denitrification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this study, the biokinetics of autotrophic denitrification with biogenic S0 (ADBIOS) for the treatment of nitrogen pollution in wastewaters were investigated. The used biogenic S0, a by-product of gas desulfurization, was an elemental microcrystalline

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Mechanism and effect insight on stabilizing biological S0 in sulfur-rich wastewater

open access: yesGongye shui chuli
To improve the recovery rate of biological elemental sulfur(S0) in the simultaneous denitrification and sulfur removal process in sulfur wastewater, the effect and mechanism of stabilizing biological S0 in sulfur-rich wastewater were studied.

Insulator-to-metal transition in sulfur-doped silicon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We observe an insulator-to-metal (I-M) transition in crystalline silicon doped with sulfur to non- equilibrium concentrations using ion implantation followed by pulsed laser melting and rapid resolidification. This I-M transition is due to a dopant known
