Covalent Adaptable Networks with Associative Siloxane Exchange Enabled by Amide‐Based Internal Catalysis: Designing for Reprocessability and Extrudability by Increasing the Cross‐Link Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Internally catalyzed siloxane dynamic chemistry is demonstrated resulting from amides covalently linked through alkyl chains to siloxanes. The alkyl length in the siloxane‐containing monomer tunes the network cross‐link density. Siloxane exchange dynamics are faster with increasing cross‐link density, because associative exchange is second order in ...

Production of potassium-nitrogen sulfate fertilizer by conversion of potassium chloride with sulfuric acid

open access: yesИзвестия Томского политехнического университета: Инжиниринг георесурсов, 2017
The relevance of the research is caused by the necessity to obtain complex potassium sulfate fertilizers, which do not contain chloride ion. The accumulation of the latter in soil leads to lower yields and increases the level of soil salinity.

Self‐Assembled Gallium Sulfide (GaS) Heterostructures Enabling Efficient Water Splitting and Selective Ammonia Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gallium sulfide (GaS) forms self‐assembled heterostructures with its native oxide, exhibiting high performance in water splitting and ultrasensitive and selective ammonia detection. Surface defects and controlled oxidation enhance catalytic activity and sensing response.

SUPERAÇÃO DE DORMÊNCIA EM SEMENTES DE JITIRANA ( Merremia aegyptia L.)

open access: yesRevista Caatinga, 2007
The objective of work was evaluated four methods of superation of dormancy in Jitirana (Merremia aegyptia). The treatments used were: 1- Checking, 2 - Submersion in the hot water at 80ºC by one minute, 3 - Mechanic escarification by five minutes; 4 ...

Quantum Dots and Perovskites‐Based Physically Unclonable Functions for Binary and Ternary Keys via Optical‐to‐Electrical Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates optoelectronic PUFs that improve on traditional optical and electrical PUFs. The absorber materials are randomly coated through spray coating, ligand exchange, and dynamic spin coating. Incident light generates wavelength‐dependent binary multikey and enhances security ternary keys, approaching near‐ideal inter‐ and intra ...

Wear of iron and nickel in corrosive liquid environments [PDF]

open access: yes
Friction and wear behavior of Fe and Ni sliding on aluminum oxide in aerated sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid were investigated. The results show that the concentration of acid is an important factor in controlling the metal loss caused by wear ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Thermochemical generation of hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
The direct fluid contact heat exchange with H2SO4 at about 330 C prior to high temperature decomposition at about 830 C in the oxygen release step of several thermochemical cycles for splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen provides higher heat transfer
