A convenient preparation of sulfuryl chloride fluoride

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1992
Abstract The reaction of either ammonium fluoride or potassium fluoride with sulfuryl chloride in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid at ambient temperature gave sulfuryl chloride fluoride in good to moderate yields.

One-Pot 1,1-Dihydrofluoroalkylation of Amines Using Sulfuryl Fluoride

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2018
Sulfuryl fluoride, SO2F2, has been known and used as a fumigant for over 50 years but it has only recently gained widespread interest as a reagent for organic synthesis. Herein we report a novel application of sulfuryl fluoride gas in a new 1,1-dihydrofluoroalkylation reaction, which simply involves bubbling SO2F2 through a solution of amine, 1,1 ...

Harmless Treatment of Sulfuryl Fluoride by Chemical Absorption

Environmental Engineering Science, 2015
Abstract Chemical absorption was employed for the harmless treatment of sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2) in the simulated residual fumigant. SO2F2 was absorbed by sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution in a packed column. Effects of spray density, gas flow rate, concentration of NaOH solution, and inlet SO2F2 volume concentration on SO2F2 removal efficiency were ...

Microwave Spectrum and Structure of Sulfuryl Fluoride

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1957
The microwave spectrum of sulfuryl fluoride, SO2F2, has been reinvestigated. The spectra of the S32 and S34 species in natural abundance have been analyzed, and the structure has been determined with the aid of the S34 isotope shift. The correction for zero-point vibration was shown to be small.

Quantum cascade laser-based photoacoustic sulfuryl fluoride sensing

Applied Physics B, 2017
Although sulfuryl fluoride (SO2F2) is an efficient fumigant that does not react with the surface of indoor materials and does not reduce the stratospheric ozone shield, there are some concerns about its use. It is a toxic gas that attacks the central nervous system, and its global warming potential (GWP) value is 4780 for 100 years’ time. Therefore, it
