A Legacy of Submarine Slope Failure in Seismic Reflection Data Along the Active Hikurangi Margin, Aotearoa New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract Documenting and characterizing past submarine landslides is fundamental to understanding their distribution and frequency through time, and critical to assessing the associated hazard. The widespread availability of marine geophysical data at the active Hikurangi subduction margin, east of Aotearoa New Zealand, provides an excellent basis to ...

Cerebrovascular Strokes During Venoarterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

open access: yesCritical Care Research and Practice, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Background Venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA‐ECMO) is a life‐saving mechanical support in patients with cardiogenic shock. There are great variations in the reported rates of neurological complications and associated mortality. Our aim was to analyze our cohort of adult patients supported with VA‐ECMO to identify the incidence ...

Impact of bridging thrombolysis versus endovascular thrombectomy alone on outcomes in anticoagulated patients with atrial fibrillation and acute ischaemic stroke

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 31, Issue 12, December 2024.
Abstract Background and purpose The impact of bridging thrombolysis prior to endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) compared to EVT alone on intracerebral haemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH), and death in anticoagulated atrial fibrillation (AF) patients with acute ischaemic stroke (AIS) is not well defined.

Total intracranial hemorrhage volume measurement summating all compartments best in traumatic and nontraumatic intracranial bleeding

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2024.
Measurement of total ICrH volumes is more accurate than volume by compartment with less measurement error. Determination of hemostatic efficacy was consistent across readers, and within the same reader, as well as when compared to consensus read.

Impact of the Sea Surface Temperature in the North‐Eastern Tropical Atlantic on Precipitation Over Senegal

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 129, Issue 3, 16 February 2024.
Abstract This study examines 40 years of monthly precipitation data in Senegal (1979–2018) using Climatic Research Unit observations and ERA5 reanalyzes, aiming to understand the influence of oceanic and atmospheric factors on Senegal's precipitation in July, August and September (JAS).

Protein interaction mapping reveals widespread targeting of development‐related host transcription factors by phytoplasma effectors

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 117, Issue 4, Page 1281-1297, February 2024.
SUMMARY Phytoplasmas are pathogenic bacteria that reprogram plant host development for their own benefit. Previous studies have characterized a few different phytoplasma effector proteins that destabilize specific plant transcription factors. However, these are only a small fraction of the potential effectors used by phytoplasmas; therefore, the ...
