A Generalized Poisson Summation Formula

open access: yesApplied and Computational Harmonic Analysis, 1996
The authors give two proofs for a generalization of the Poisson formula \(\sum_{n\in Z} f(n) = \sum_{n\in Z} \widehat f(n)\). Although the generalization involves abelian groups only, the original proofs went by the way of the Heisenberg group and its discrete subgroups.

The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Finite temperature density matrix and two-point correlations in the antiferromagnetic XXZ chain

open access: yes, 2005
We derive finite temperature versions of integral formulae for the two-point correlation functions in the antiferromagnetic XXZ chain. The derivation is based on the summation of density matrix elements characterizing a finite chain segment of length $m$.

Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Summation and the Poisson formula [PDF]

open access: yesResearch in the Mathematical Sciences, 2020
By giving the definition of the sum of a series indexed by a set on which a group acts, we prove that the sum of the series that defines the Riemann zeta function, the Epstein zeta function, and a few other series indexed by $\Z^k$ has an intrinsic meaning as a complex number, independent of the requirements of analytic continuation.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Bisection Series Approach for Exotic 3F2(1)-Series

open access: yesMathematics
By employing the bisection series approach, two classes of nonterminating 3F2(1)-series are examined. Several new summation formulae are established in closed form through the summation formulae of Gauss and Kummer for the 2F1(±1)-series.

Particle Propagation on a Circle with a Point Interaction

open access: yes, 2009
We study a particle propagation on a circle in the presence of a point interaction. We show that the one-particle Feynman kernel can be written into the sum of reflected and transmitted trajectories which are weighted by the elements of the n-th power of

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Real‐World Performance of CSF Kappa Free Light Chains in the 2024 McDonald Criteria

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Kappa free light chains (KFLCs) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) have a similar performance to CSF‐restricted oligoclonal bands (OCB) for multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. To help with implementation, we set out to resolve several remaining uncertainties: (1) performance in a real‐world cohort and the 2024 McDonald criteria; (2 ...
