Sunn Pest Damaged and Healthy Wheat Grains Dataset Across Different Species

open access: yes, 2023
Sunn pest is one of the most crucial noxious species in agriculture. As the sunn pest penetrates and makes damage to the grains, they can no longer be utilized to make bakery goods like bread, pasta, and other baked foods since they become unusable. Therefore, analysis and detection of damaged wheat grains are necessary for production to continue.

High-altitude migration of Heteroptera in Britain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Heteroptera caught during day and night sampling at a height of 200 m above ground at Cardington, Bedfordshire, UK, during eight summers (1999, 2000, and 2002-2007) were compared to high-altitude catches made over the UK and North Sea from the 1930s to ...

Rolled‐crimped cover crops for organic no‐till planted winter wheat (Triticum aestivum) in the Northeast region of the United States

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 7, Issue 4, December 2024.
Abstract Mulch from cover crops can suppress weeds and facilitate organic no‐till corn and soybean production. However, research is lacking on the no‐till planting small grain crops into rolled‐crimped cover crops. An experiment was conducted to test the effects of no‐till planting winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) into five cover crops planted in ...

EFFECTS OF AZADIRACHTIN ON THE SUNN PEST, EURYGASTER INTEGRICEPS PUT. (HETEROPTERA, SCUTELLERIDAE) IN THE LABORATORY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2006
To investigate the effect of azadirachtin on different stages of the sunn pest, Eurygaster integriceps Put. (Het., Scutelleridae) in the laboratory, a commercial neem insecticide (NeemAzal T/S) was applied at dose of 0.5 % by dipping insects.

The LTAR Cropland Common Experiment at the Gulf Atlantic Coastal Plain

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 53, Issue 6, Page 869-879, November/December 2024.
Abstract The Gulf Atlantic Coastal Plain (GACP) Long‐Term Agroecosystem Research (LTAR) network site is characterized by hot and humid summers with low gradient stream channels surrounded by wetland forests and croplands. Beneath its sandy soils, a confining layer stifles recharge to the deeper aquifer system, so a substantial proportion of streamflow ...

Searching for wheat resistance to aphids and wheat bulb fly in the historical Watkins and Gediflux wheat collections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Insect pests can reduce wheat yield by direct feeding and transmission of plant viruses. Here we report results from laboratory and field phenotyping studies on a wide range of wheat, including landraces from the Watkins collection deriving from ...

Winter cover crop performance in the Southern Piedmont region of South Carolina

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2024.
Abstract Cover crops (CCs) offer in‐field and environmental benefits when integrated into cropping systems. Low CC adoption in the Southern Piedmont region of South Carolina is partially due to the lack of information on CC performance and benefits within the region.

Ethology of Sunn-pest oviposition in interaction with deltamethrin loaded on mesoporous silica nanoparticles as a nanopesticide

open access: yesChemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture, 2022
Background Wheat is one of the main food for around 2 billion people worldwide. Among the biological stressors, Eurygaster integriceps Puton is a damaging insect in wheat and barley fields, which harms them both quantitatively (by overwintered adults ...
