Nephron-sparing Surgery without Angioembolization in Giant Angiomyolipoma: Is it Feasible?

open access: yesJournal of Urological Surgery, 2018
Varying sizes of renal angiomyolipoma (AML) have been reported in the literature, with the general consensus that a size greater than 10 cm can be termed a giant AML. Our patient presented with increasing abdomen girth since last 3 years.

Nuclear collective states in 110Cd, 192Pt, 192Os and 166Er

open access: yes, 1984
The properties of the low-lying energy states of 110Cd, 192Pt, 192Pt and 166Er following the radioactive decays of 110mAg, 192Ir and 166mHo were investigated. Two high resolution Ge(Li) detectors, one intrinsic germanium detector and a Compton suppression system were employed for the measurements of the gamma-ray energies and relative intensities ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Scattering of electrons by atomic systems with configurations (1s)2 (2s)2 (2p)6 (3s) 2 (3p)9

open access: yes, 1969
The close-coupling approximation has been used to compute cross sections for a wide range of processes (electron impact, photodetachment and photoionization). Errors in previous formulations have been pointed out and corrected. The results are compared with previous calculations and experiments and are correlated to recent work on the effects of ...

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.
