Components of Supercapacitor

2017
Although the components of supercapacitors and their fabrication process are similar to that of batteries, but the SCs are categorized according to the charge storage mechanisms. The dominance properties of SCs (like specific power, long life time, and quick charge/discharge process etc.) over the batteries strongly depends on the active and passive ...

Smart, Stretchable Supercapacitors

Advanced Materials, 2014
Smart supercapacitors are developed by depositing conducting polymers onto aligned carbon-nanotube sheets. These supercapacitors rapidly and reversibly demonstrate color changes in response to a variation in the level of stored energy and the chromatic transitions can be directly observed by the naked eye.

Supercapacitors and Batteries

MRS Proceedings, 1998
ABSTRACTComparisons are made between the material requirements for supercapacitor electrodes and the cathode of a lithium-ion battery. The performances of the battery cathodes Li1+xFe2(SO4)2(PO4) and Li1+5 VMoO6 are compared to those for supercapacitor electrodes operating with 5.3 M H2SO4, Nafion 117, or 2 M KCl aqueous solution at pH 6.7.

Ionic Liquids for Supercapacitor Applications

Topics in Current Chemistry, 2017
Supercapacitors are electrochemical energy storage devices in which the charge is accumulated through the adsorption of ions from an electrolyte on the surface of the electrode. Because of their large ionic concentrations, ionic liquids have widely been investigated for such applications.

10. Supercapacitors in bioelectrochemical systems

2019
Bioelectrochemical systems (BESs) are devices composed of two electrodes: (1) an anode and a cathode and a (2) separator that can be a solid (e.g., membrane) or a liquid (e.g., electrolyte) [1, 2]. At the anode, the oxidation reaction occurs while at the cathode reduction reaction takes place.
