Supercapacitors

The fundamental principle behind a supercapacitor's operation involves the formation of an electric double layer at the electrode-electrolyte interface, where charge is stored electrostatically. These materials are chosen for their high surface area and electrical conductivity.

Nanocarbonsfor Supercapacitors

2012
Supercapacitors (or electrochemical capacitors) are electrochemical energy storage devices having higher energy density than dielectric capacitors and higher power density than batteries. Actually, they are capable of delivering large amounts of energy in a very short time. These devices rely mainly on the characteristics of the electrical double layer

Supercapacitors

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2016
In our studies, gate electrodes were placed in mid-position between the anode and the cathode of electrolytic capacitors.  Ionic currents were made to flow through these gate electrodes.  The gate was an electronic p-n junction and consisted of p-type and n-type functionalized carbon nanotubes (CNT).

Polydiacetylene–Perylenediimide Supercapacitors

ChemSusChem, 2020
AbstractOrganic supercapacitors have attracted interest as promising “green” and efficient components in energy storage applications. A polydiacetylene derivative coupled with reduced graphene oxide was employed, for the first time, to generate an organic pseudocapacitance‐based supercapacitor that exhibited excellent electrochemical properties ...

Doped graphene supercapacitors

Nanotechnology, 2015
Heteroatom-doped graphitic frameworks have received great attention in energy research, since doping endows graphitic structures with a wide spectrum of properties, especially critical for electrochemical supercapacitors, which tend to complement or compete with the current lithium-ion battery technology/devices.

Smart, Stretchable Supercapacitors

Advanced Materials, 2014
Smart supercapacitors are developed by depositing conducting polymers onto aligned carbon-nanotube sheets. These supercapacitors rapidly and reversibly demonstrate color changes in response to a variation in the level of stored energy and the chromatic transitions can be directly observed by the naked eye.
