VAMA VECHE WATERSPOUTS OF 16 JULY, 2013 [PDF]
Vama Veche waterspouts of 16 july, 2013. As it is known, waterspouts generally occur in unstable thermodynamic stratification, light wind in the low troposphere and high Convective Available Potential Energy (CAPE) in the low layers.

Inertial oscillation of a vertical rotating draft with application to a supercell storm [PDF]
An analytic model (vertical rotating draft) which includes the gross features of a supercell storm on an f-plane, undergoes an inertial oscillation that appears to have been overlooked in previous analytic and numerical models.

The Predictability of the Southern England 23 October 2022 Severe Downbursts
Accurate prediction of damaging straight‐line wind events from convection helps keep people safe. Using four regional ensemble prediction systems, we determine the predictability of the different aspects of the microburst wind potential index (left), which can be used to estimate the spread in expected downburst speed (right).

Propane Dehydrogenation Over Reduced CeO2 and CeZrO2
Ceria, a non‐noble metal oxide considered inactive for propane dehydrogenation, is transformed into an active catalyst via a deep, bulk‐level reduction pre‐treatment that generates new active sites and unlocks alternative low‐energy pathways for this process.

Turbulence Closure Parameterization and Grid Spacing Effects in Simulated Supercell Storms
Abstract Many meteorological organizations plan to substantially increase the resolution of the limited-area models used for severe weather prediction. Such an approach does not guarantee a priori the reduction of the uncertainty of the decision maker in the prediction of severe weather impact.

Structural characteristics of an EF4 tornado in Funing were reproduced through numerical simulation with a hectometer‐scale resolution. Results demonstrate that the tornado initiated in the mid‐ to upper‐levels, with the stretching term of the vorticity equation playing a dominant role throughout its development. ABSTRACT Tornadoes are characterized by

A novel Pr‐based nanocomposite cathode consisting of PrNi0.7Co0.3O3‐δ (simple perovskite) and Pr4Ni3O10+δ (Ruddlesden‐Popper) demonstrates enhanced oxygen absorption/surface diffusion and oxygen reduction reaction activity than pure PrNi0.7Co0.3O3‐δ. Combined with the precursor‐based cathode layer deposition technique, the nanocomposite cathode also ...

We employed in situ heating transmission electron microscopy to study the metal‐catalytic graphitization and sequential formation of FeCoNi nanoparticles from mixed Ni, Co, and Fe salts on polyacrylonitrile nanofibers. Two distinct pathways, operating at different temperatures, were observed for the catalytic graphitization of PAN nanofibers ...
