Ultra‐Compact Broadband Spot Size Converter Using Metamaterial Cell‐Based Inverse Design

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Inverse design techniques are combined with subwavelength structures to design a compact, high‐performance spot size converter. A cell‐based topology is proposed, where each cell is composed of an equivalent homogenous metamaterial, resulting in a reduced parameter that speeds up optimization. A 7 μm$\mu{\rm m}$‐long device that achieves a 24‐fold beam

Microbial Transformation of Dietary Glycerol Contributes to Intestinal Acrolein Formation and Urinary Excretion

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
The double unsaturated aldehyde acrolein has been implicated in a number of human disorders. Investigating a cohort of 20 participants housed at defined conditions based on a combination of urinary and fecal biomarkers, we observed that glycerol was readily available to intestinal microbiota.

A theoretical interpretation of diffusion weighted and intravoxel incoherent motion imaging for cerebrospinal fluid flow

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Diffusion‐weighted imaging (DWI) and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) imaging are well‐established approaches for evaluating cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow in subarachnoid and perivascular spaces, and have recently been applied to study ventricular CSF flow.

Ternary Microphase Diagram of SBM Triblock Terpolymer Morphologies in Spherical Confinement

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Block copolymers are a versatile class of soft materials, as they combine different chemical and physical properties within the same macromolecule. Triblock terpolymers are of particular interest because of the numerous morphologies they can form. With the aim of generating a comprehensive ternary microphase diagram, we emulsified 22 different

Convolutional and Graph Neural Network Framework for Predicting Critical Impact Velocity in Heterogeneous PBX‐9501

open access: yesPropellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, EarlyView.
Flowchart the Convolutional Graph Neural Network framework for predicting critical impact velocity in heterogeneous PBX‐9501: A) Initial configurations of three PBX 9501 samples with varying pore structure. B) Generated graph representation for each sample, with nodes positioned at each pore and edges connecting all pores.

AlphaFold3 at CASP16

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The CASP16 experiment provided the first opportunity to benchmark AlphaFold3. In contrast to AlphaFold2, AlphaFold3 can predict the structure of non‐protein molecules. According to the benchmark presented by the developers, it is expected to perform slightly better than AlphaFold2 for proteins.
