Quantum Monte Carlo Simulation of Bipolaron Superconductivity in Extended Hubbard–Holstein models on Face‐Centered‐Cubic and Body‐Centered‐Cubic Lattices

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
Numerically exact quantum Monte Carlo calculations of bipolaron properties are used to estimate transition temperatures (T*) for Hubbard–Holstein models on face‐centre cubic (FCC) and body‐centre cubic lattices. Repulsion (U/W) can make bipolarons lighter and raise T*. Lattice properties leading to 1st order hopping means that T* is much higher for the

Why Compressed Hydrides Are Near‐Room‐Temperature Superconductors

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
A constant magnitude surface with vector directions indicated of the non‐rigid electronic potential of one displaced lithium atom in a Li crystal. The upper figure is of the calculated gauge‐dependent field, the bottom gives its rotation (curl operator) of the physical field that describes amplitude shift from the front of the displaced atom to behind ...

Nonadiabatic and Anharmonic Effects in High‐Pressure H3S and D3S Superconductors

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
Superconductivity in high‐pressure H3S${\rm H}_3{\rm S}$ and D3S${\rm D}_3{\rm S}$ is studied using first‐principles calculations that include anharmonic lattice dynamics and nonadiabatic electron‐phonon vertex corrections, going beyond the conventional Migdal‐Eliashberg framework. These effects suppress the effective electron–phonon coupling and lower

DFT‐Based Insights Into Elastic, Thermophysical, Electronic, and Optical Properties of Topological Insulators XTe5 (X = Zr, Hf)

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
In this work, we present the first in‐depth investigation of elasto‐mechanical, thermophysical, and optical properties of these compounds. In particular, we analyzed the directional dependence of the elastic properties, explored the optical response for different photon polarization directions, and examined potential industrial applications of these ...
