A New Tri-Parametrical Law of Corresponding States for Subcritical Dense Fluids [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 1998
This article introduces a new tri-parameter law of corresponding states from the known regularities, namely the LIR and Zeno line for dense fluids (when Tz=Tc).

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

The Influence of Confining Topography Orientation on Experimental Turbidity Currents and Geological Implications

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
Turbidity currents distribute sediment across the seafloor, forming important archives of tectonic and climatic change on the Earth’s surface. Turbidity current deposition is affected by seafloor topography, therefore understanding the interaction of ...

Self‐Seeded Nucleation of PET in a Benign Solvent Yields a High Modulus Aerogel With Ultra‐Low Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new benign solvent (1,3‐diphenylacetone) enables a simple, safe, and sustainable dissolution and gelation method to convert waste PET into low density, monolithic aerogels with high mechanical strength (E = 20 MPa) and remarkably low thermal conductivity (k = 21.9 to 28.9 mW/m·K).

Time‐Resolved Simultaneous Mapping of Thickness and Nanoparticle Concentration in Nanofluid Thin Films via Imaging Ellipsometry and Deep‐UV Reflectance Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study establishes a dual‐channel optical metrology framework integrating phase‐shifting imaging ellipsometry and deep‐UV reflectance imaging. This label‐free approach enables simultaneous, time‐resolved mapping of film thickness and nanoparticle (NP) concentration in dynamic nanofluid thin films.

On supercritical branching processes with emigration

open access: yesJournal of Applied Probability, 2022
AbstractWe study supercritical branching processes under the influence of an independent and identically distributed (i.i.d.) emigration component. We provide conditions under which the lifetime of the process is finite or has a finite expectation.
