Electrocarboxylation in supercritical CO2 and CO2-expanded liquids [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2008
Abstract In this study, the electrocarboxylation of benzyl chloride in pressurized CO 2 , or pressurized mixtures of dimethylformamide (DMF) and CO 2 , was investigated in order to synthesize phenylacetic acid. A stainless steel cathode was used as the working electrode, whereas a sacrificial massive magnesium rod or a platinized platinum grid was ...

Characteristics and mechanisms of supercritical CO2 flooding under different factors in low-permeability reservoirs

open access: yesPetroleum Science, 2022
In recent years, supercritical CO 2 fl ooding has become an effective method for developing low-permeability reservoirs. In supercritical CO 2 fl ooding different factors in fl uence the mechanism of its displacement process for oil recovery.

Experimental study on tensile and shear strength of anthracite under supercritical CO2

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2022
In the process of CO2 geological sequestration, the mechanical properties of coal will be changed after supercritical CO2 interacts with coal. Based on this, in this paper, Brazilian splitting test and variable angle shear test were carried out on ...

Influence of Supercritical CO2 on the Formation Sensitivity of Tight Sandstone

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
It is challenging to get water-based fracture fluid to flow back into low-pressure gas reservoirs. In order to solve the problem, supercritical CO2 is a novel type of non-aqueous fracturing technique with a wide range of applications prospect in low ...

Experimental study of the supercritical CO2 diffusion coefficient in porous media under reservoir conditions [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
Reliable measurement of the CO2 diffusion coefficient in consolidated oil-saturated porous media is critical for the design and performance of CO2-enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.

Displacement dewatering of sludge with supercritical CO2

open access: yesWater Research, 2021
Supercritical CO2 (sCO2) displaces water from wastewater, alum, and papermill sludge. The sCO2 appears to enter the sludge matrix through viscous fingering through the entrained water. Because the water removed far exceeds the solubility of water in sCO2, it must be displaced by the sCO2 rather than dissolved out.
