Study on the mechanism of CO2 injection to improve tight sandstone gas recovery

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
Supercritical CO2 can improve gas recovery and achieve carbon sequestration in tight gas reservoir. It is a hot topic but not applied extensively. The main restricts include the unclear mechanism of gas-to-gas displacement and the reduction of the ...

Displacement dewatering of sludge with supercritical CO2

open access: yesWater Research, 2021
Supercritical CO2 (sCO2) displaces water from wastewater, alum, and papermill sludge. The sCO2 appears to enter the sludge matrix through viscous fingering through the entrained water. Because the water removed far exceeds the solubility of water in sCO2, it must be displaced by the sCO2 rather than dissolved out.

Fluid phase equilibria of the reacting mixture in the dimethyl carbonate synthesis from supercritical CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In order to investigate the dimethyl carbonate synthesis from methanol and supercritical CO2, the thermodynamic behaviour of the reacting mixture, i.e. the quaternary methanol/CO2/DMC/water mixture, has to be known.

Nitrogen sorption as a tool for the characterisation of polysaccharide aerogels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Supercritically dried aerogels of several polysaccharides (chitin, chitosan, alginate, alginic acid, k- carrageenan, and agar) have been characterised by physisorption ofN2. Surface areas as high as 570m2 g−1 have been measured.

Experimental study of microstructure and mechanical properties-acoustic emission characterization of high-rank coal under supercritical CO2 action

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
The supercritical CO2 fracturing technology has significant potential for developing coal fracture and increasing gas permeability. Understanding its influence mechanism on coal is crucial for advancing research and practical engineering applications of ...

Dimensionless scaling of heat-release-induced planar shock waves in near-critical CO2

open access: yes, 2017
We performed highly resolved one-dimensional fully compressible Navier-Stokes simulations of heat-release-induced compression waves in near-critical CO2. The computational setup, inspired by the experimental setup of Miura et al., Phys. Rev.

Spin-Exchange Term in the Solvent Equation of State Near the Critical Point for Electron Transfer Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Phenomenological Equations of State (EOS) for fluids near their critical point have been obtained using literature compression factor data, Zc = Pc Vc/(n R Tc) = 0.40 to 0.10 in Table I (Pc, Vc/n, Tc are the pressure, volume per n mole, and the absolute ...
