Synthesis of cobalt nanoparticles in supercritical methanol

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2010
Abstract Cobalt nanoparticles with a face-centered cubic (fcc) structure were synthesized by the reduction of Co(NO 3 ) 2 in supercritical methanol. The reduction of Co(NO 3 ) 2 to fcc Co was completed within 15 min at 400 °C and 300 bar. The reduction mechanism was investigated by varying the reaction temperature (200–400 °C) and the reaction time

Submicronic particles synthesis by a supercritical way

High Pressure Research, 2001
Abstract The chemical transformation of metallic precursors in a supercritical fluid is a new route for obtaining nanometric homogeneous powders. In this paper we present a technique to produce metal, oxide or nitride submicronic particles, with a spherical morphology and mean diameters from a few microns to a few tens of nanometers.

Investigating the Synthesis Potential in Supercritical Water

Chemical Engineering & Technology, 1999
In order to investigate the synthesis potential of supercritical water (SCW), hydration and dehydration reactions as well as hydrolyses of various model compounds (alcohols, esters, nitriles, amides) were carried out under sub- and supercritical conditions.

Supercritical phase Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Chemical Engineering Science, 1990
Abstract Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction was conducted in a supercritical fluid medium using a fixed bed reactor. Although the rate of the reaction and the diffusion of reactants were slightly lower than those in the gas phase reaction, the removal of reaction heat and waxy products from the catalyst surface were much more effective than those in ...

Supercritical combustion synthesis of titanium nitride

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1996
To increase the interstitial mass loading of nitrogen for enhanced product yield in the self-propagating, high-temperature synthesis (SHS) of metallic nitrides, the synthesis was conducted in cryogenic nitrogen at supercritical states just above the critical point. This state regime has the unique characteristic that the density increases significantly

Synthesis of nanocrystalline SnO2 in supercritical water

Journal of Nanoparticle Research, 2006
Nanocrystalline SnO2 was synthesized in supercritical water at 385–415°C and 30 MPa (38–106 s residence time) in a tubular flow reactor from an aqueous solution of 0.1–0.4 M SnCl4. The conversion rate was between 53 and 81%, but increased to 97.8% when 0.1 M NaOH was added.

Supercritical Flow Synthesis of TiO2

2014
A new, up-scaled supercritical flow synthesis apparatus has been constructed in Aarhus. A module based system allows for a range of parameter studies with improved parameter control. The dual-reactor setup enables both single phase and core-shell nanoparticle synthesis.
