Carbon Nanotube Synthesis in Supercritical Toluene

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2004
Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were synthesized in supercritical toluene at 600 degrees C and approximately 12.4 MPa using ferrocene, Fe, or FePt nanocrystals as growth catalysts. Toluene serves as both the carbon source for nanotube formation and the solvent.

MIP Synthesis and Processing Using Supercritical Fluids

2021
Supercritical fluid technology provides a clean and straightforward way for the preparation of high affinity polymeric materials. Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) as dry, free-flowing powders are obtained in a one-step synthetic route yielding molecular recognition materials for several applications. Herein, we describe the experimental procedures

A review on subcritical and supercritical water gasification of biogenic, polymeric and petroleum wastes to hydrogen-rich synthesis gas

, 2020
Lignocellulosic feedstocks such as forestry biomass and agricultural crop residues can be utilized to generate biofuels and biochemicals. In addition, a large amount of non-plant residues or biogenic wastes is also generated worldwide that has huge ...

Supercritical phase Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

Chemical Engineering Science, 1990
Abstract Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction was conducted in a supercritical fluid medium using a fixed bed reactor. Although the rate of the reaction and the diffusion of reactants were slightly lower than those in the gas phase reaction, the removal of reaction heat and waxy products from the catalyst surface were much more effective than those in ...

Supercritical Hydrothermal Synthesis of Nanoparticles

The Proceedings of the Thermal Engineering Conference, 2004
Abstract In this chapter, nanoparticle synthesis using supercritical water is introduced. The characteristic phase behavior of supercritical water enables organic ligand modification, and fine tuning of particle size and morphology can be realized by the method. Synthesis of metal nanoparticles is possible in homogeneous reductive atmosphere provided

Synthesis of Supercritical Crystallization Processes

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2005
Supercritical crystallization using carbon dioxide has become a favorite alternative to conventional processes such as evaporative crystallization and antisolvent crystallization. Phase diagrams that show the regions where various phases are present can facilitate the design of such processes.

Synthesis of Fluoropolymers in Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

Science, 1992
Fluoropolymers are used in many technologically demanding applications because of their balance of high-performance properties. A significant impediment to the synthesis of variants of commercially available amorphous fluoropolymers is their general insolubility in most solvents except chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs).
