Synergetic Combination of Carbon Xerogels, Graphene Oxide and nano‐ZnO for Aqueous and Organic Supercapacitors

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
This work proposes the synthesis of carbon‐based nanostructured materials obtained using ZnO as both nanos‐ template and catalysts simultaneously. During the synthesis, GO was used as a stabiliser, preventing the collapse of the 3D structure and improving its properties in terms of capacitance and surface area.

Synthetic Cathepsin B Sensitive Adjuvant‐Peptide Conjugates to Target Intracellular Toll‐Like Receptors 7 and 8

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Cathepsin B‐sensitive peptide–adjuvant conjugates are designed, synthesized, and evaluated to deliver an antigenic peptid and an adjuvant targeting Toll‐like receptors 7 and 8 (TLR7/8) to antigen presenting cells. The adjuvant is released by cathepsin B resulting in antigen presentation and TLR mediated T cell activation.

Novel sustainable synthesis of dyes for clean dyeing of wool and cotton fibres in supercritical carbon dioxide

open access: yesJournal of Cleaner Production, 2018
A new synthetic route was developed to create an azo-based reactive disperse dye containing the vinyl sulphonyl reactive group. This dye was used to colour wool and cotton fibres using scCO2 as the dyeing medium.

Are physiological oscillations physiological?

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract figure legend Mechanisms and functions of physiological oscillations. Abstract Despite widespread and striking examples of physiological oscillations, their functional role is often unclear. Even glycolysis, the paradigm example of oscillatory biochemistry, has seen questions about its oscillatory function.
