Aneurysm of the superficial palmar arch

International Orthopaedics, 1995
We describe a case of compression of the median nerve by an aneurysm of the superficial palmar arterial arch which presented with symptoms of the carpal tunnel syndrome. The traumatic and occupational nature of true palmar aneurysms are discussed.

ANEURYSM OF THE SUPERFICIAL PALMAR ARCH: A CASE REPORT

Hand Surgery, 2008
Aneurysms of the hand are uncommon lesions. The most common location is the ulnar artery. We present a case of a young female who consulted us for a hand mass with a history of trauma to the hand. Pre-operative arteriogram showed a superficial palmar arch aneurysm. The mass was excised and the arch was reconstructed using a reversed Y-shaped vein graft.

Newer insights in the anatomy of superficial palmar arch

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2019
The purpose of the study is to study and classify the superficial palmar arch and its variation based upon the gross dissection and to check the bilateral symmetry of the arches. Specifically, we checked for the presence of the superficial palmar arch as described in the standard textbooks. We dissected 55 hands from 28 cadavers of both sexes that ...

ANGIOLEIOMYOMA OF THE SUPERFICIAL PALMAR ARTERIAL ARCH

Hand Surgery, 2013
Angioleiomyomas are benign solitary soft-tissue tumors that originate from the vascular smooth muscle of vessels and rarely occur in the hand. Pain and tenderness are the only clinical characteristics. This report presents a rare case of angioleiomyoma arising from both the superficial palmar arch and a concomitant vein of the artery.

Local Vascular Contribution of the Superficial Palmar Arch

Cells Tissues Organs, 1993
The aim of the present study was to establish a precise topography of the arterial supply of the different layers in the palm of the human hand. Two hundred upper extremities from fresh human cadavers aged 20–80 years were injected either by coloured latex or by India ink and gelatine.

SUPERFICIAL PALMAR ARCH- INCOMPLETE VARIANTS

INDIAN JOURNAL OF APPLIED RESEARCH
The supercial palmar arch (SPA) and deep palmar arch (DPA) provide the dominant vascular supply to the hand. The SPA is highly variable with multifarious contributions from the ulnar, radial and persistent median arteries. It is classied into Complete and Incomplete SPA based on the anastomosis of Ulnar artery ( UA) with or without one of these ...

Superficial palmar arch with Persistent median artery

Journal of the Anatomical Society of India, 2016
Abstract During the routine cadaveric dissection of the upper extremities at the Department of Anatomy of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Science, one cadaver was found to have Persistent Median Artery (PMA) in the Carpal Tunnel. The PMA in present cadaver was as large as the radial artery originated from the brachial artery and ran distally,

Arterial Patterns of the Deep and Superficial Palmar Arches

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2001
The vascular patterns of the palmar arches and their interconnecting branches present a complex and challenging area of study. Improvements in microsurgical techniques have made a better understanding of vascular patterns and vessel diameters more important. Forty-five fresh limbs from cadavers were amputated at the level of the midhumerus.

Anatomical Landmarks to the Superficial and Deep Palmar Arches

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2008
Knowledge of the relationship of the palmar arches to anatomical landmarks would decrease iatrogenic injuries, facilitate treatment of vascular occlusive disease, and ease interpretation of abnormal arteriograms. The purpose of this study was to identify the location of the palmar arches in relation to surface and bony landmarks. The palmar arches in 48
