Medial and lateral branches of the superficial radial nerve: Cadaver and nerve conduction studies
Clinical Neurophysiology, 2010To establish a reliable technique for nerve conduction study (NCS) of medial and lateral branches of the superficial radial nerve (SRN).The distribution of SRN and its branches were examined in 10 cadavers. Based on the cadaveric study, anti-dromic nerve conduction studies were performed on 31 healthy subjects. The SRN became superficial approximately 8.

The anatomic relationship between the lateral antebrachial cutaneous nerve (LABC) and the superficial branch of the radial nerve (SBR) is outlined in 53 cadaver and 41 clinical dissections. Either partial or complete overlap of the LABC with the SBR occurred in 75% of the cases.

Effects of Clinical Infrared Laser on Superficial Radial Nerve Conduction
Physical Therapy, 1985The purposes of this study were to demonstrate the effects of infrared laser radiation on the sensory nerve conduction of a specified peripheral nerve in man and determine temperature changes in the tissue surrounding the treated nerve. Twenty healthy adults were divided into three groups: control (n = 5); experimental (n = 10), infrared laser ...

Anatomic characteristics and clinical importance of the superficial branch of the radial nerve
Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2004The aim of this study was to demonstrate anatomic variations of the superficial branch of the radial nerve (SBRN) and to discuss the importance of this branch for surgical approaches. Upper extremities of 24 cadavers without any known history of disease or trauma were examined, the SBRN became subcutaneous at a mean of 9.20 cm and bifurcated at a mean ...

Ultrasound’s Effect on the Conduction Latency of the Superficial Radial Nerve in Man
Physical Therapy, 1981Research has clearly demonstrated that ultrasound has an effect on nervous tissue and its ability to propagate an action potential, but controversy exists concerning what physiological changes occur and whether these changes are due to the thermal or mechanical properties of ultrasound.

Rare Variant of the Radial Artery Causing Compression of the Superficial Radial Nerve
JBJS Case ConnectorCase: This case report describes a patient with paresthesia in the distribution of the superficial sensory branch of the radial nerve that was treated with surgery. Intraoperatively, there was a unique cause of internal compression by a rare superficial radial artery variant running adjacent to it.

Nerve conduction studies in the superficial radial nerve entrapment syndrome.
Muscle & nerve, 1990This report reviews the syndrome of entrapment of the superficial branch of the radial nerve (SBRN) in the forearm, and electrodiagnostic techniques to aid in diagnosis are presented. Normal mean radial sensory conduction in the forearm was found to be 61.4 +/- 3.1 m/sec. Three patients are presented.
