Abstract The hepatosplanchnic vascular response to isolated abdominal organ injury remains poorly defined. The aim of this review was to synthesize the available evidence on macrovascular hepatosplanchnic flow and organ‐specific microvascular perfusion following isolated abdominal injury or surgery.
