Due to its higher patency rate, a radial artery graft (RAG) is used as an interposition graft for internal-external high-flow bypass more frequently than a saphenous vein graft (SAG). Nevertheless, there are still a few cases of RAG stenosis after bypass

Topographical anatomy of the superficial temporal artery
Turkish Neurosurgery, 2022To describe in detail the gross anatomy of the superficial temporal artery (STA), its course and branches, its relationships with the branches of the facial nerve, and certain anatomical and surgical landmarks to preserve these structures in daily neurosurgical practice, and to use the STA during revascularization surgery. This cadaveric study was ...

Clinical Anatomy, 2021
AbstractExtracranial–intracranial bypass has been shown to be effective in the surgical treatment of moyamoya disease, complex aneurysms, and tumors that involve proximal vasculature in carefully selected patients. Branches of the superficial temporal artery (STA) are used commonly for the bypass surgery; however, an appropriate length of the donor ...

Anatomy of the superficial temporal artery
Head & Neck Surgery, 1980AbstractThe anatomy of the superficial temporal artery was investigated in radiographic and cadaveric studies. The superficial temporal artery divides into an anterior and posterior branch, and the diameters of these vessels are similar. The anatomy of these two vessels is described, and implications for their use in reconstructive flaps are suggested.

Aneurysm of the superficial temporal artery
American Journal of Otolaryngology, 1982A case of pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal artery is reported. The possible association of aneurysm of the superifical temporal artery with intracranial disease is discussed. Dynamic computed tomography is the procedure of choice to confirm the diagnosis and exclude intracranial disease.

Superficial temporal artery aneurysm
Head and Neck: Journal of the Sciences and Specialties of the Head and Neck, 2013Background Superficial temporal artery (STA) aneurysms are an uncommon entity and mostly described in case studies. The purpose of this review was to show the studied clinical presentation, diagnostic modalities, and treatment modalities of STA aneurysms.

Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of superficial temporal artery
The American Journal of Surgery, 2010An 83-year-old man reported falling and bumping his right lateral forehead on the ground 3 weeks previously. Physical examination revealed a soft, reddish swelling on the lateral forehead. Computed tomography confirmed a hematoma of the right lateral forehead. On the seventh hospital day, the swelling showed slight enlargement.

Pseudoaneurysm of the Superficial Temporal Artery
Southern Medical Journal, 1996Ours is the first report of pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal in a 90-year-old woman. Although falls with associated head and scalp injuries in the geriatric population are common, pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal artery is rarely reported, probably due to the generally protected course of the superficial temporal artery across the ...
