Pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal artery
British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 2009A 15-year-old boy developed a superficial temporal artery pseudoaneurysm as a result of blunt trauma to the left temporal area. The diagnosis was based on the ultrasonographic appearance. The left temporal region was explored, and haemostasis resulted in complete resolution of the swelling.

“Reverse” superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery bypass
Surgical Neurology, 1985A new technical variant on the superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery anastomosis was performed in a patient with occlusions of both the left internal and external carotid arteries and persistent ischemic symptomatology. Instead of anastomosing the proximal segment of the superficial temporal artery to the middle cerebral artery as is ...

Anatomical Study of the Superficial Temporal Artery
Neurosurgery, 1985Abstract Fifty consecutive human autopsy specimens were studied to determine the suitability of the superficial temporal artery (STA) for use in microvascular anastomoses. Ten variations of the STA were found. The STA at the zygoma averaged 2.2 mm in outside diameter. The STA averaged 31.7 mm from the zygoma to its bifurcation, where the

ANEURYSMS OF THE SUPERFICIAL TEMPORAL ARTERY
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1969Post-traumatic aneurysms of the superficial temporal artery are encountered infrequntly and the literature contains only one example diagnosed by carotid angiography. An additional case is reported in which the aneurysm was demonstrated angiographically and treated by excision. The clinical features of this condition are briefly discussed.

Superficial Temporal Artery-Middle Cerebral Artery Bypass
2021Superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery (STA-MCA) bypass, developed and popularized by Yasargil and Donaghy in the late 1960s, remains the most straightforward and versatile extracranial-intracranial (EC-IC) bypass method today, with applications in treating Moyamoya disease, cerebral aneurysms, and intracranial atherosclerosis.

Bilateral Superficial Temporal Artery Aneurysms
Journal for Vascular Ultrasound, 2009Aneurysms of the superficial temporal artery are rare and most often traumatic in origin. In this case study we present an extremely rare occurrence of bilateral nontraumatic superficial temporal artery aneurysms. Spontaneous bilateral superficial temporal artery aneurysms have not been previously reported.
