Traumatic Arteriovenous Malformation of the Superficial Temporal Artery

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research, 2017
Most of the vascular lesions on head and neck soft tissue are congenital, but a rare cause can be trauma. A 23-year-old man came to our clinic with a wide pulsatile tortuous mass in the left temporofrontal area. That mass was appeared since 10 years ago.

Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the superficial temporal artery

open access: yesNational Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery, 2018
Aneurysms of the facial vasculature due to various accidental, violent, and surgical injuries have been reported since mid-17th century. Approximately 386 pseudoaneurysms of the superficial temporal artery (STA) have been reported in the literature since 1644. Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the STA is a rare lesion.

Materials and Music: Selective Imperfection as a Generative Framework for Analysis, Creativity and Discovery

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Vibrations in matter, from spider webs to molecules, water to flames, share a grammar with music. We propose that creativity emerges when constraints force expansion beyond existing possibilities. Selective imperfection restores balance, enabling invention.

Traumatic aneurysms of the superficial temporal artery

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1973
Abstract Six patients with aneurysm of the superficial temporal artery are reported from Africa. The presenting symptom was a pulsating swelling in the temporal region, and blunt trauma to the side of the head was the aetiological agent in every case. Treatment by surgical excision is advocated.
